The NFL could pay him whatever. It comes down to if the 4 years he spent at Michigan chasing a title trumps the however many years he spent in the NFL chasing the ring. Michingan would be smart to hire a good coach like him, especially since he's from Ohio, they generally have decent luck with that.

It really comes down to if he wants to do the recruiting game again. With all of the rules, restrictions and headaches that comes with it. Football is football but recruiting is the tough part.

Michigan is courting him so hard and with so much money to back it up I dont know if I can see him turning it down. He would probably make about half the money in the NFL right?

I wonder how much of that is real and how much is an agent pumping things up.

So texts between Ray McDonald and the girl he (allegedly) raped indicate that Aldon Smith came over and they all drank a bunch of vodka and cranberry together. Looks like Aldon will be taking some more time off soon

The Bears should offer a 3rd round pick.

Bummer about Willie Young. Hope he heals up fine but...Achilles injuries are no joke.

He was walking around Southlake Mall in NW Indiana yesterday. I'm not one of those guys, but shouldn't that thing be resting?

It says in that article a couple of times that Dallas would need Detroit and Green Bay to tie.

you mean like the second paragraph when it says this

So Dallas has virtually no shot at moving into the top slot, unless Seattle wins tonight then loses next week, the Cardinals lose twice and Green Bay and Detroit tie next week - and Dallas beats Washington.

or the third paragraph where it says this

A Cardinals win locks Dallas into the third seed, unless next week's game between the Packers and Lions ends in a tie.

Bears sign G Roberto Garza to one-year extension -- http://bit.ly/1x7WiWx #BearsTalk

Did Emery make this move? If he is on the way out he wouldn't have been allowed to sign a player to an extension would he?

Does this indicate he is safe?

Not sure exactly but usually when we see an extension or two late in the season it's an effort to put a part of the extension on the current season's salary cap and to use up the remaining cap space that teams leave open to use when injuries happen.

The Bears better be walking in right behind.

Sources in Bay Area now saying he's signing with Michigan. Probably already agreed upon.

I'll believe it when he's announced on Tuesday.

this is my opinion on the Bears and maybe their problem.

is it really the coaches fault? i think the real fault to should fall right on

the shoulder pads of the QB. before the Bears got him, he was practually

ran out of Denver. how many times he couldn't put it together when the

team needed him. wasn't there some rumblings several yrs ago that

he was a bad attitude.

now i will say that i never did like him and i stop watching, for the most

part, the Bears b/c of him and that he was not going to win.

so again, is it really the coaches fault, even the coaches in Denver

couldn't get him prepared.

now, here is where i am wavering, and this is but a small example. when

the Blackhawks hired Denny, i thought good, he earned the chance. but

when Quenneville became available the Hawks fired Denny and hire Q.

it was a great move and nothing else need to be said.

while the Bears coach deserve another chance and with a different QB,

getting Harbaugh may be like the Hawks getting Q.

The Bears have the worst defense in the league. Not sure the QB had much to do with that.

Not to mention one of the worst ST in the league as well. That falls on both Trestman and Emery because Emery wanted a ST full of rookies to develop but that hasn't exactly worked out.

7 of the top 15 most efficient passing games against the Bears happened against Trestman and Tucker in the past two years. That doesn't fall on Cutler

While right, you're also wrong. Cutler couldn't keep the offense on the field. Many times, going 3 and out or having a costly turnover so the defense had to march right back out there. The offense was supposed to carry this team, it didn't and a large part of that is Cutler.

Also, who's going to coach the Bears next year and suddenly fix Jay Cutler?

It's not right and wrong, it's a bad team all around.

I'm not absolving Cutler of blame, a large share of it is his own. I'm just disagreeing with LDF that it all falls on him.

and lets be real here, that defense is tissue paper weak. Even if Cutler could score more points, look at that bulls*** I just posted. That doesn't have to do with Cutler. He actually had an amazing first half against the Packers and it didn't make a damn bit of difference, Rodgers started the game hitting something stupid like all of his first 15 passes.

And the high paid offense scored 30+ points exactly zero times.

Fact is, all 3 phases sucked and they are all connected. If the offense could sustain an early 7 minute drive, maybe the defense doesn't get trampled on. If the special teams doesn't return every kickoff out the end zone and get tackled inside the 15, maybe the offense can be more aggressive and run the offense better.
