McCarthy should have gone for it on those first two field goals. When will nfl coaches learn to start paying attention to win probabilities?

The weird thing is that seeminly all year long they went for it. Its not even like he was looking at win probabilities, more that he was conceding to the Seattle D as opposed to confident in Rodgers. And even worse, Green Bays defense was beasting for most of the game, even if they failed on the goal line stand you have to be confident in your own defense.

Great call

I know you dislike Wilson but he stepped up when he needed to, OTOH your boy Luck looked lost out there...

LMAO dude are you sure you're not confusing me with someone else. I have never ever been on Luck's nuts.

Might have sonething to do with facing one of the best defenses in the league. The win probabilities are based upon the entire league averages not against one of the best defenses.

This just like all of the stats used in baseball become meaningless in the playoffs when you face the best teams.

If you look at it the other way...one of the best teams in the league might be more liable to come back on you late in the game if you don't deliver a knockout punch early.

The NFL has confirmed it is looking into charges the New England Patriots cheated Sunday night when they clinched a trip to the Super Bowl Sunday night by using deflated footballs.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the probe Monday, following the AFC championship game, in which the Patriots demolished the Indianapolis Colts, 45-7. The charge was first made Sunday night, when an Indianapolis reporter that the NFL had seized at least one game ball from the AFC championship game to examine whether pigskins were intentionally deflated to make them easier to throw and catch.

“The NFL is investigating the possibility,” Bob Kravitz, of WTHR, tweeted, adding that, “at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it.”

Which is why you need to maximize the scoring opportunities when you're within the 5 yard line.

I kinda liked that conference. Not as fun as the super technical Emery and initial Trestman conferences, but sounded more like a real football coach.

Night and Day. When he dodged specific answers, it didnt sound like he draped an English PHD over his words in order to distract people.

And no men were grown, or will be grown.

Was fantastic. He is such a no nonsense SOB. Breath of fresh air to have a real life football coach back in Chicago. This guy is going to totally change the atmosphere of the lockerroom.
