MexSoxFan#1
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) But what really ever comes out of "media day" that matters or anyone cares about? It's always just canned non-answers. EXACTLY! Who really gives a s*** what they say anyways, they never really give you original and insightful answers, just the same clichéd answer over and over again. I care what they do on the field on Sunday, not what they say to the media mid-week
StrangeSox
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) I'm sure he's a nice guy off the field but he's a jerkoff when it's football related. All he wants to do is promote his brand and acting this way gets him the most attention. But if nobody made such a big deal that he doesn't make himself available for meaningless interviews, he wouldn't get any attention from it. MexSoxFan#1
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 01:13 AM) I disagree completely. I think the Seahawks are the most unlikable team in the NFL, besides maybe the Patriots now. I think this Superbowl will be hate-watched by anyone who isn't a fan of one of these teams. Meh, this is entirely subjective, if these guys were wearing Cowboys uniforms, I bet you wouldn't find them quite so unlikeable. Dennis Rodman was one of the most hated member of the Bad Boy Pistons to Bulls fan, then he wore a Bulls uniform and magically became a Bulls fan favorite... If he really is a decent guy, I don't know why he can't take the couple hours of stupid questions and answer them like a decent human being. It doesn't seem to be so difficult for others. Chisoxfn
Has Lynch had any run ins with the law? Don't think so, so in the grand scheme of things, I don't really care if he doesn't talk to the media. Lynch, historically, gets penalized more than guys who commit serious crimes, etc. Its pathetic. I always used to say the same thing about TO. Might have been an ass but he was better than a lot of other guys in the league who were disgusting pieces of trash. TO just had a big mouth. Blew a 0.10 DUI in California in 2012. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...ult-allegation/ Lynch has been in trouble with the law before, including a 2008 guilty plea to hit and run, a 2014 guilty plea to reckless driving as the resolution to a DUI arrest, and a 2009 guilty plea to misdemeanor weapons charges, the latter of which resulted in a three-game suspension to start the 2009 season. Lynch reported to Seahawks camp on July 31 after a brief holdout resulted in the Seahawks agreeing to increase his 2014 base salary.

StrangeSox
That the biggest story to come out of "media day" is a single player who has a history of not talking doing exactly that sort of tells you how valuable it is. I feel the same way with the radio segments with players during the season for the most part. They can't and won't say anything about what the team's doing, what's "really" going on in the locker room, strengths/weaknesses they've actually identified. It's all canned answers, "work hard focus on the next game play hard and win." Woo.

Jake
I've seen it hinted that Lynch might have some sort of social anxiety disorder, which is why he dislikes talking to the media. Taking the questions seriously would make him very nervous, etc. I recall Marion Barber was very shy as well, though he came off better than Marshawn

I did the same thing with Rodman, AJ and Ozzie. You dislike it but forget it because they're on your team, and then eventually it hits a point where the antics become annoying and not worth it. Usually when they stop winning. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) I've seen it hinted that Lynch might have some sort of social anxiety disorder, which is why he dislikes talking to the media. He wasn't to obligated to do that. 2) his media stunts draw more attention to him. If you really have a disorder you're doing everything in your power to lessen the attention. StrangeSox
He'd clearly rather not go at all and has been fined for taking that road in the past, and taped segments are a bit different from unscripted press conferences.

He did a whole stunt with a cut out of himself right? He performed an act in front of people. I find it hard to believe someone with a legit disorder about speaking to the media/being in the public eye is going to do that.
