Besides, if I want to slug back 14 beers just to get drunk, I'm taking a light beer every time.

AND THAT BEER IS MILLER LITE, THE ORIGINAL LIGHT BEER

Just over a week ago, Budweiser’s parent company bought well-known Seattle craft brewery Elysian . Among the beers that brewery made last year? The Gourdgia on my Mind Pecan Peach Pumpkin Amber.

I hate you.

I agree with you. Pitch Perfect was also one of the great HBO movies where I may have seen about 30 times because it was always on and I'd always watch it.

The only commercials that got any reactions from my house:

1.) Budweiser dog - no explanation needed

2.) Insurance commercial with the dying kid - Everyone basically said WTF and talked about how they were just doing to get people to make posts/tweets/texts/emails like this.

3.) The NBC show "The Slap" - Our room erupted with laughter as we had no idea why NBC though this was a good idea for a show. What a terrible, terrible idea. Then we questioned what had happened to Uma Thurman's career where she becomes the 6th listed actor/actress on such a horrible pilot.

That avocado commercial with the draft and caveman and animals. That had me laughing. That was a good one. Another favorite was the Fiat commercial getting viagra in its gas tank and getting bigger lol.

If there is more overrated comedy in the last 5 years, I haven't seen it.

Pitch Perfect is amazing.

I think it's kinda weird that the first person they hand the trophy to isn't the coach or the MVP QB but the team's owner. Compare that to the Stanley Cup, where Toews is the first person from the Blackhawks organization to hoist the cup.

Of course they should. There wouldn't be a team without the owner. Once all of the players retire, the owner will still be there. It's HIS team.

NBC...where good shows to go die because NBC would rather promote stupid shows called "The Slap".

I have a friend who works in a national park in the northwest and she was irate about the Budweiser dog commercial. Apparently wolves are on the brink of extinction because of the false belief that they prey on humans and their pets when they rarely do anything of the sort. She figures portrayals like that will only harm the effort to gain support and stop wolf hunting. Supposedly the near-elimination of wolves in many areas has led to huge deforestation because their main prey (deer) have their populations go relatively unchecked and they just eat all the plant life.

The Budweiser dog one was good, but their commercial making fun of beer "snobs" (people tasting and smelling beer) and basically declaring that "We only want people who like to drink beer to drink our beer!" (or something) was a total turn off. It's OK if people like drinking craft style beers because that is good. People don't need to force piss-swill down their throat to be a TRUE BEER DRINKER.

You can tell they're afraid of craft beer, which makes up about 10% of the overall beer market. I think it's smart marketing though. They want to stop the converts by saying that's not better beer, that's beer for fussy assholes. Of course, their policy is a bit confused because they're buying up every craft brewer who will agree. What is crazy, though, is how many craft brewers refuse lucrative buyouts because that's just not why they're in the game. This is an industry where Sam Adams (the biggest craft brewer by far) sold their reserves of hops to small brewers when a drought caused a national shortage of hops that could have put many out of business.

My opinion is that the average craft beer drinker's taste is what will put a cap on the industry. Well over a quarter of all craft beer sold are IPAs, and it just isn't a universally appealing beer style. A huge portion of people trying a craft beer for the first time are likely to make it their last if they get a big IPA on that first try.

It was cute the first time, but definitely a diminishing marginal return movie.

There's two things there. First is that, the year the Boston Beer Company actually produced more barrels of beer than the "microbrewery" standard allowed, the standards were changed so that they could still be called a microbrew. It's still only a fraction of the big brewers, but they're in a weird middle area. Second is that they sold those hops at cost when they could have tried to turn a profit on them, which was a legitimately cool thing to do.

I thought we were well past these theories.

This is the reason I've seen Pitch Perfect more than any movie ever. God that movie is so good. So quotable, too.

Well, do wolves eat dogs?

Coyotes do, we here in Homer Glen have had a few small dogs get eaten by coyotes. Though I blame the stupid owners, small dogs that get to run around loose have stuff happen to them. Though one was on a property but the leash it was on was extremely long and they had no fence, basically went up to an open retention are.
