IlliniKrush
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) Because the NHL shares most of its arenas with NBA teams and the NBA teams don't want the seats any further from the court than they already are. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) NBA is not the reason it is the lost revenue of the ten rows of seats surrounding the ice that is the issue. The NBA rolls out folding chairs and portable seats now. The NHL losses its highest ticket priced seats and a lot of them. Yeah, it has nothing to do with the NBA. RockRaines
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 08:23 AM) I'm 'bout ready to fall asleep watching this SWE-SUI game. Its been a good defensive game, the Swiss have a really nice scheme and have been trapping the Swedes.

cabiness42
Sweden is only +3 after 2 games. They are going to be going for a bucketful of goals tomorrow against Latvia.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 08:40 AM) Sweden is only +3 after 2 games. They are going to be going for a bucketful of goals tomorrow against Latvia. Given all their injury problems, I don't know if they will be that agressive. Zetterberg is now out for the tourney (and maybe the NHL season), so they are missing arguably 2 of their best 3 players. One point vs. Latvia clinches them a bye into the QF, and if USA/USSR goes to OT, then Sweden clinches a top 2 seed with a simple regulation win. LittleHurt05
Dear NBC, Please refrain from using British announces for ice hockey games. The score of a hockey game is NEVER "nil-nil". Thanks.
Steve9347
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 08:40 AM) Sweden is only +3 after 2 games. They are going to be going for a bucketful of goals tomorrow against Latvia. That's a team that sorely misses the likes of Forsberg and Sundin. cabiness42
Finland and Canada both running up the score today. Even so, a regulation win against Russia and the US should be able to score as much as they need to against Slovenia to still get the #1 seed. IlliniKrush
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 08:51 AM) That's a team that sorely misses the likes of Forsberg and Sundin. Well they are missing some major pieces - Sedin, Franzen, and now Zetterberg. It's still a good roster, but those 3 make a huge difference. LittleHurt05
Russia was the better team in the first, but still scoreless. If I was in my early 20s, I would so be at a bar right now.

zenryan
it'll be nice if Russia continues to turn the puck over in the neutral zone. they need to fix that before it burns them.
RockRaines
Kesler has to have broken that hand.

RockRaines
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 08:02 AM) Yeah, taking penalties and looking lazy. Coach demoted him for it. Turnovers and holding the Puck as well. I'm not a huge fan of how the US is playing. They have an opportunity for puck possession but they keep rushing their play. Steve9347
If Russia can't dominate this first game in front of the home crowd, they better start planning for Bronze. USA is extremely composed and patient.
