bigruss
Nice to see the recognition, hopefully we see some good progress from the youngsters this year to back them up.
BigHurt3515
Wait, why are the Cardinals number 1?? What the hell did they do? Over paid for a SS that just got off a suspension and trade a hometown hero for a CF that hasn't proven much at the MLB level? And sign an old back up? Jose Abreu
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) Wait, why are the Cardinals number 1?? What the hell did they do? Over paid for a SS that just got off a suspension and trade a hometown hero for a CF that hasn't proven much at the MLB level? And sign an old back up? I know, Peralta is a scumbag and the Freese trade wasn't that great.
brian310
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) Wait, why are the Cardinals number 1?? What the hell did they do? Over paid for a SS that just got off a suspension and trade a hometown hero for a CF that hasn't proven much at the MLB level? And sign an old back up? Cards didn't really have a whole lot to do. Peralta will be way better than anyone else the Cards would run out there. And even overpaying him, their payroll for this upcoming season is far lower than it was last year (thanks to a lot of young pitching and position players making next to nothing). With that said, I agree we should be above them. Edited February 11, 2014 by chisoxfan310
BlackSox13
The Sox have had ALOT more work to do than the Cards so the Sox should rate higher but whatever. At least they got some good credit for their moves so far. Edited February 11, 2014 by StRoostifer
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) I agree that they got too much love for the signing of Peralta which I don't get but otherwise they had a good offseason. Bourjos is a game changer in CF. Yeah but the BEST offseason?? Come on now.. These voters must be Cardinals fans..
TheTruth05
National Media giving the White Sox some credit?wow...the cardinals did help themselves out by getting a pretty decent SS in Peralta(better than anything the currently have), and their new CF but yea it's pretty crazy the Sox should have easily been #1. Dick Allen
The Blue Jays won the trophy for last offseason. That stuff matters about as much at the attendance trophy in Lakeview. It's like giving out awards for movies before you actually see the movies. Edited February 11, 2014 by Dick Allen
witesoxfan
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) I don't think this is a criteria when choosing who had the best offseason. It certainly should be. The Cardinals didn't have to do s*** and they would have had a good offseason. They had like 1 hole. That they're #1 discredits this list quite a bit. I honestly think the Sox had the best offseason out of any team in the majors.
