Dick Allen
Apparently in Tampa last night, the umpires lost track of the count. They took it to the replay guys who got it wrong. Escobar walked, but then struck out.

southsider2k5
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Wonder if in a year this might be the thing that suddenly returns him to form. More like two years. Forget about this year. Next year he pitches at about 80-85%. The year after is when he should be fully healthy in theory. If you can sign him cheaply next year, with an option for 2016, then you listen. Otherwise, forget it.
Soxfest
Some idiot in SF/COL game today reached in over CF fence and caught ball with hat. He was ejected in about 2 minutes.

I'd rather have just kept fair/foul hits and traps as plays that could be looked at. I miss the manager/umpire arguments.

The process may be a pain at times, but if it results in correct outcomes/decisions being made then it has to be considered progression. Jake
The problem with replay has been implementation. There are constantly calls that are clear as day to TV viewers, but MLB won't pull the trigger. If they're going to be incredibly conservative, then just let the umpires talk it out on the field and take video out of it. Or just do it right like every other league. chw42
QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04...,40.581,-90.984 Map of who dominates each and every inch of the USA in terms of MLB fandom I think it's pretty interesting that some of the other teams that share cities (or metro areas) like Oakland and the Mets have absolutely no majority where they are located. The Yankees dominate New York and the Giants dominate the Bay Area. Yet, the Sox have a pretty steady foothold in the Chicagoland area. Worth remembering that this is the first time it's been deployed at a large scale, so it is entirely possible they will make improvements to the process as time goes on.
