LittleHurt05
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) Well it depends who he pinch hit for and who was coming up after the batter he pinch hit for. He pinch hit for Daniel Nava, then Jackie Bradley pinch ran for him. Xander Bogaerts was up next, he has over 100K s and 10 GIDPs. He ended up hitting a sac fly and the Sox won 2-1 so it worked out. But it just seems silly to waste your best hitter knowing he would be walked then you would pinch hit for him. Especially in a NL park, what if the game had gone into extras? He PH for Nava, and Boegarts was on deck. Still, he wasted Ortiz when there was no chance he was getting pitched to.
Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 01:14 PM) He PH for Nava, and Boegarts was on deck. Still, he wasted Ortiz when there was no chance he was getting pitched to. Was anyone other than Jackie Bradley Jr available to pinch hit for the pitcher? Given that Bradley is hitting close to .200 they probably would have been happy to go after either Nava or Bradley in that situation with the expectation of it being a free out. That's just idiotic. Part of the fun of baseball is having rivalries. Taking things a BIT too seriously, there. They should worry more about how they're going to acquire Tulowitzki or Hanley Ramirez.
