Thank you. Alejandro DeAza Dayan Viciedo Matt Lindstrom Andre Rienzo? Other On thiers: Jesus "El Burriot Gigante" Montero Hector "PLEASE Put Me with COOP" Noesi Nick "GET ME THE f*** OUT OF HERE" Franklin Dustin "Me or Beckham?" Ackley Other Hahn's been talking with the Mariners, and both clubs have said that there have been deals they could have made but are in ST wait and see mode. We're making a deal before ST is through. So put together the package that ends up changing hands. I want Noesi & definitely demand Montero if Viciedo is involved. Ackley is interesting, but more as a 2B. Franklin costs the most but Hahn wants him, and he makes an Alexei trade easier. Blue Jays can get Beckham in multiple scenarios involving the Mariners shipping us an infielder. Jose Abreu
Why would you want Montero? He just put on 40 lbs
Jose Abreu
That being said, De Aza and Rienzo and Dunn for Franklin and a AAA guy (not enough for them?)
The Ultimate Champion
Dunn for Montero striaght-up, full salary relief could be a nice deal for both teams. I'd take Montero because why not? Mariners nixed Viciedo for Franklin proposed by Hahn, so goes the rumor. M's want more but want Viciedo. Add to the above, another 3 way: Beckham to Jays Jays spect(s) to Mariners Franklin + Montero + Noesi to the Sox Viciedo + Dunn + Rienzo to the Mariners plus $14M cash Franklin is your new starting 2B until Alexei goes, then he moves to SS; Montero works with the KISS DEMON & gets his s*** under control, and at least he's a big bat candidate. Noesi to the pen, he's your real rebound guy because he's under team control; when Alexei goes, Semien comes up.

Why would the Mariners give up $14 million for Dunn, and why would the White Sox pay a substantial amount for Dunn in order to get a hugely overweight player in return? I similarly can't imagine the White Sox paying "Dunn's entire contract" in the 2nd one while simultaneoulsy giving up those other players. brian310
The only way I would want Montero is if the White Sox made him a catcher again and also made him lose a bunch of weight this season and off-season. Have him come into next Spring Training thinner and ready to compete for a catching spot. I think he kind of got depressed after how last season went and I think he definitely is the kind of guy that needs to be in a different organization. I could be convinced otherwise, but I'm leaning in the "he was never really all that good and convinced people he was thanks to the juice" direction right now. Yeah me too, but also in my scenario, we wouldn't giving up anything much for him (unless he is literally a throw in for someone better we would be getting). But yeah, I would take him not expecting much but hoping he could come out surprising next Spring in better shape.

If, as it was written above, the Mariners or someone would take Dunn for the guy straight up...well of course I'm doing it, but that's because you save $14 million on Dunn. Otherwise, basically not worth anything to me.

I am with you on this. I hope the Sox stay away from a guy that has been using PEDS and is now out of shape and over weight. Plus once again we have folks that dream up trades and give away the farm

brian310
Are we even still talking to the Mariners? I know that we were around the winter meetings when we didn't have Davidson yet and the idea was putting Ackley or Franklin at third
SouthsideDon48
Everyone on Soxtalk would hate this, but I'd trade the Mariners Chris Sale for Taijuan Walker, James Paxton, Tyler Pike, Stefan Romero, and DJ Peterson.

glangon
I'd trade them Axelrod and a box of popcorn for King Felix. They'd probably not accept it, but the popcorn does taste nice.

lasttriptotulsa
QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Feb 23, 2014 -> 07:07 AM) Beckham for Cano Only if the mariners pick up half of Cano's contract. That contract is going to be horrible in a few years.

harfman77
ADA and Lindstrom for Carson Smith, Tyler Marlette, and Julio Morban. Smith can make the team this year in the bullpen, Marlette gives the team a legit C prospect, and Morban could be the everyday LF next season.
