clujer420
By the sounds of things around here, you would think that we got swept and that our season is over. "They put three pretty good starters out there against us, and we did well. That's a good sign. We're still fighting and playing good baseball, and I feel good about that." -- Jerry Manuel Jerry is 100% right. The Sox played excellent baseball for 26 out of 27 innings, and did so in a very hostile environment. I GUARANTEE you that if you were told on Tuesday before Game 1 that we can just skip to Friday with a 13-2 victory against Roger Clemens, an 11-2 victory against David Wells, and a 7-5 defeat against Mike Mussina, EVERYONE here would have taken that in a heartbeat. So, we need to look at the big picture and realize that we took 2 out of 3 ON THE ROAD against one of the best teams in baseball. Now we need to focus on Detroit. We've got Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, and Esteban Loaiza, and hopefully the Sox can keep up their good baseball.
Molto
that is something people seem to forget. whether we lost or not today, fact is we beat them every inning outside of the first. only reason they won is because we had a young and wild Cotts on the mound. you never want to lose, but at least we showed we can go toe to toe with this team, even when we have our fifth starter out there. cwsox
don't tell anyone we won the series - it will ruin the pity party and all the feeling sorry for themselves and the refusal to be happy because misery is so much more becoming. whitesox247
Thank you. We swept the goddamn Yankees for god's sake. And did anyone notice Jurassic went 4-4 with 3 rbi's?
SoxFan1
Yes, we won the series but when you can play for a sweep, you go for it! You have to! You can just SETTLE for 2-3!
Molto
why can't you settle for two? why is sweepin the f***ing yankees that damn important? you act like we went into this game with the expectation to lose. Manuel made it clear, he wanted to win this series but also wanted to give Buehrle an extra day of rest. HAD we of lost the first or second game, we would be tied for first and the third game would be important, thus warrant starting Buehrle, but we won the first two so there is NO NEED TO CHANGE YOUR ROTATION AROUND. he wanted to give Buehrle the day off so he can use him more down the stretch, against teams like the Twins and Royals, you know, the ones in OUR DIVISION. yeah, forget about them, our only concern is sweeping the yankees. This is the kind of s*** that JM does to cause this team to get swept by s***ty ass teams! He pisses his players off, they dont play well, and we get swept by the Tigers! He's a f***ing retarted idiot!

The only thing im concerned with at all is the mental aspect of the team right now. Of course the one loss doesnt do damage.
