ILMOU
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 09:21 AM) http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/get-yo...-today-3-pm-csn Opening Day lineup, or just maximizing Beckham's AB's? I'm so ready for Beckham to be gone. Yep. But we'll have to wait 3-4 more months, I'm pretty sure. And why are we still wasting time with Axe? Enough already. EDIT: cause it's divisional opponent and we don't want to show them EJohnson, who's pitching in a Minors camp game today. Balta1701
I for one do not want Dunn getting more at bats than the rookies and I really don't care if they think it helps him get more pitches to see. (we also just had that discussion about the lack of good evidence for impact of strong protection in the stats thread).
brian310
QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) We're slated to have one rookie in the opening day line up and Dunn isn't playing everyday anyways. I think he's just talking about young guys in general. I too am a bigger fan of Dunn fifth/sixth. Not a fan of those all or nothing kind of guys hitting third. Princess Dye
QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) What do you guys think of the 3-4-5 spots for the regular season. I think going Dunn-Abreu-Garcia is the best option. Dunn 3rd will have pitchers giving him better pitches with Abreu protecting him. Garcia 5th will break up the potential group of slow guys in Abreu-Dunn-Viciedo-Gillaspie. I like CF Eaton 2B Beckham DH Dunn 1B Abreu RF Garcia LF Viciedo 3B Gillaspie C Flowers SS Ramirez I think we'll see CF Eaton SS Ramirez RF Garcia 1B Abreu DH Dunn LF Viciedo 3B Gillaspie 2B Beckham C Flowers We're identical. Well I tend to just assume Flowers last in all situations but i guess maybe i see the AR last philosophy as a little ..bunching of speed

ILMOU
QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) I think we'll see CF Eaton SS Ramirez RF Garcia 1B Abreu DH Dunn LF Viciedo 3B Gillaspie 2B Beckham C Flowers I as well, and the concern is Abreu will be treated like an 8 hole NL hitter if Dunn starts poorly. And it may be the best config. anyway, though I'd probably flip Gordo with Lexi, on the off chance that Beckham has a good 3 month stretch in him. And perhaps put Lexi 9th and TFlow 8th. ChiliIrishHammock24
Hawks says that a lot of people think Micah Johnson is the fastest player in baseball? Huh? He's fast, but I feel like I've seen faster. He just happens to be a fantastic base stealer.

ChiliIrishHammock24
Hawk just said that Dylan Axelrod is "normally pinpoint" with his control. 2013 BB/9 - 3.02 2012 BB/9 - 3.71 2011 BB/9 - 4.34 PINPOINT.

southsider2k5
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) I thought we had finally put him out to AAAA pasture in Charlotte. I like the guy - pitches as hard as he can. He isn't on the 40 man roster. He basically has zero chance at making the White Sox out of spring training. There is no need to worry about what Dylan Axelrod does unless you are Richard Dotson.
