See the names at the bottom? He's probably there, but it's cut off. Same with Dunn.

No that would be the pitchers. Under "left handed", it only lists Tekotte and Johnson. Probably just a off day for both.

Maybe we're looking at two different things. Yes, they're both off today.

Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 9m

Jose Abreu just went far to his left and made a diving stop on a decently hit grounder, stabbed and made the flip. Nice range. #WhiteSox

Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 9m

A nice diving stop by Abreu on the foul line. Gets the out flipping to Johnson covering first.

Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 9m

Great diving stop by Abreu and flip to Johnson to take away a hit. Scouts have been impressed by Abreu's movement around first

It was a great play by Abreu. Anyway, Sox are hitting every ball hard in this 2nd inning.

Kenny Williams is smiling at LaRussa, haha.

Just showed up in the KIRO radio box and, poof! 5 runs.

Didn't realize he was just another half season from passing John McGraw for most wins, still far behind Connie Mack.

Lots of good stories from 1983.

Beckham to the DL please!

Wally Pipp.

I'm not sure how helpful that's going to be for his trade value, BUT, it will be nice to see Semien does playing everyday the first few weeks of the season. We'll have a much better sense of his defensive skill set.

And where he stands in terms of plate patience, walks vs. K's, SB's, XBH's, etc.

Can anybody give one good reason why Beckham should be the starting 2nd basemen this season over Semien? Seriously.

Honestly, none and I hope Hahn and Ventura see that and decide to put Beckham on the DL to start the year and give Semien the first couple weeks, if he struggles when Beckham is scheduled to come back then you simply just send him down. But if he continues to do well then you do whatever it takes to trade Beckham or Ramirez or you keep him with the MLB team playing 5 games a week at either 2B, SS, or 3B.

I've been saying for a while, I think Semien is ready. That said, with this club where it is, I think it benefits everyone to have Semien starting at SS/2B in Charlotte and Beckham in Chicago. Beckham can get his value up while Semien gets AAA AB's, which he can still use some of. Nothing is lost really, for the long term build of the team. Semien will be in Chicago this year, it doesn't need to be on Opening Day. If Beckham is terrible enough and one of Sanchez or Semien tears up Charlotte, you can release Beckham then. But if he's decent, you can get something for him in trade, and further develop the youngsters, which are both bonuses.

Marcus Semien has 142 PAs in AAA. I don't know if Beckham getting injured means that Marcus is ready.

Gillaspie has modified where his hands are and as a result, he has seemingly lengthened out his stroke a little bit.

He's ready man. At the worst, he is the same type of player Beckham has been for the last couple of seasons.

Patience is key everyone. Semien starting the year in the MLB would be because of necessity (injuries to Keppinger and Beckham) not because it makes most sense for his developmental arc.

yeah, there is zero reason to rush Semien. If we learn this lesson because of anyone, it should be because of Gordo.

As much as I would love Semien to be starting at 2B this year, I think sending him to Charlotte with Davidson is just the smart thing to do. Make both of them get 2-3 more months of work down there and let them hit their way up here. It can't possible hurt any. Let both of them prove without a doubt that they belong here, similar to Avi last year.
