Quin
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) Gillaspie is going to hit a 3 run homer in his first at bat. It will then no longer be questionable.
flavum
Adam Eaton on 87.7...he wants to be in Minneapolis for the All Star Game. He's motivated to be a really good player, which is great. Edited March 31, 2014 by flavum

Jose Abreu
Alexei should be switched with Semien but otherwise not a bad lineup.
GGajewski18
QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) I have no idea why anyone would think this. Semien is more patient/sees more pitches. Semien will surely get on base more. Semien uses the whole field. Alexei goes up there, swings and at everything and pulls everything. Let him tap some of the power down low in the order. I agree with you. Semein deserves to be in the 2 hole. Hit well there in ST, and this could be the future 1-2 punch for at least the next 5 years. pettie4sox
Gillaspie is a pretty patient hitter. He's not a power bat but does make a fair amount of contact. All the stats nerds can probably confirm or destroy my assessment.

Rowand44
Gillaspie batting 3rd is ridiculous. On a positive note, made the last second decision to call out of work and grab a ticket. Yay!
flavum
Jeff Soptic for an opening day 3-hole hitter? ok.
chw42
Not a fan of Gillaspie hitting third. I think Robin's putting too much weight into the handedness of his hitters. I'd much rather have someone like Garcia (or hell even De Aza) in that spot.
Y2Jimmy0
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:57 AM) Not a fan of Gillaspie hitting third. I think Robin's putting too much weight into the handedness of his hitters. I'd much rather have someone like Garcia (or hell even De Aza) in that spot. Yeah it's dumb. If Viciedo is part of the White Sox future I believe that he should be starting as well.

Jose Abreu
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:02 AM) Twins- Dozier, Suzuki, Mauer, Willingham, Colabello, Plouffe, Arcia, Hicks, Florimon Set 'em up and knock 'em down. Dozier's underrated, Suzuki's OK, Mauer kills us, Willingham kills us, Colabello won't do s***, Plouffe kills us, Arcia kills us, Hicks kills us, Florimon won't do s***. But Sale is pitching. I'm calling the perfect game.

Steve9347
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Mar 30, 2014 -> 01:23 PM) I think Konerko should start on his last opening day. Let him DH. We should be recognizing what all he's meant to this team. But whatever let's just play some ball. I think whatever's best for the future of the White Sox should happen. Paulie was signed to be a mascot/teacher, not to be our primary DH or 1B.

L-R-L-R-L-R-L-R-R If he goes 0-4 with 7 LOB, this may be the only game he starts in the 3-spot.

I'm glad Dunn isn't hitting 3 anymore. If anything, like others have said, put De Aza in that 3 hole.
Jerksticks
Holy s*** they put Dunn in the opening day lineup. That's f***ing stupid. He's gonna be booed so mercilessly, and since he's proven to be a mental midget type of player, I can't see this boofest of epic proportions stimulating a productive season. Couldn't we have just waited a day? Spare him the shame of 30k+ boos in unison, without a single cheer to be heard? I guess they know what they're doing.
