Rowand44
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) honestly I don't know what they see in Veal. It's not like his stuff is overpowering and if he just got his control problems fixed he'd be good. His stuff isn't even that good. He's got good stuff. He's certainly not electric like a young Damaso and he's pretty useless if he can't throw strikes but the stuff is there.
chitownsportsfan
good job mentally by veal to buckle down. Encouraging sign at least a little bit from him.

Feeky Magee
Worth pointing out that even with our pitchers' poor control, the home plate ump has had a horrible second half to this game. Screwed Jones twice and Veal didn't get the benefit on a couple of curve balls that went through the zone and dropped away.
dasox24
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) Didn't get to see a ton of ST and didn't realize how tiny Nieto is. Anywho, trouble a brewing. I had the exact same thought.
Rowand44
Btw, we're going to need a long reliever at some point, I don't want Webb trying to pitch 3 innings again.
Big Hurtin
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 05:45 PM) Veal walks way too many. It's ironic, because veals can't really walk around at all.
chw42
Veal is a great LOOGY if he can get his breaking pitch over to compliment his mediocre fastball. But when he can't get the breaking ball over, he's going to be in fastball counts all the time. Which results in two things: walks and hard hit balls. witesoxfan
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) Bellisario on to try to get the last out in the 10th. I wanted to wait before posting, but even with the pen short handed, this is the only move that makes sense. Plouffe is a career .278/.346/.497/.843 against lefties, .226/.283/.381/.665 against righties.
