IndySoxFan
watching the sox develop jon garland into a decent pitcher over the last few years has damn near killed me. i am not kidding. garland needs to throw a couple of no-hitters to earn my trust.... that said.... if the sox have a similar plan for neal cotts.... sox fans will drop like frenchmen in a heat wave.... Capn12
With that being said, wouldn't you agree that Jonny G has become a quite decent #3/4? I am pleased with his performance, expecially after mid-May. Cotts will never last if he doesn't figure out how to get the BB:K and BB/9 IP ratios in order. IndySoxFan
no... i would agree that garland has turned into a decent pitcher.... it was the learnig curved that almost killed me.... if we try this with cotts.... .... man i hope he makes a leap soon

Cotts just needs to learn how to get command of his pitches. I've been iffy on whether or not he was ready for this league, until today. He needs some time in AAA. Half a season should do it. Capn12
Lots of people tend to block out the fact that Jonny has become a decent pitcher, and he is only 23. With the experience he has gained at his age, I want him on the Southside as that #3/4 pitcher for quite some time if at all possible

YASNY
all this being said... and i am sure this has been said already.... but i think big dan wright is our fifth starter.... without a doubt I would agree with that but for one minor detail .... at this point, we really need Danny in the pen. Unless Paniagua can come in and hold down the job in the pen.
IndySoxFan
yes danny is our long inning middle guy.... but with our new guys..(sullivan and schowenweis)... what i mean is how many innings are these guys good for?

If we move Danny, we will burn out Sullivan ... he was acquired to be the "bridge" guy.... get us to Gordon and Marte. We can't use him for long relief, too. Schone... has been shaky so far. Wright has been effective at holding down the fort and giving our bats a chance to get us back in the game ... which they did in NY. Some games like that, we will actually win.
