Jose Abreu
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) Going to cry if this isa 1-2-3 inning. Looks like you're free.
caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 02:09 PM) The key to only losing 88-90 games this season is winning series against the Cleveland's, Minnesota's, Yankees, Baltimore's of the world and some of those NL teams. We're simply not going to beat the good teams like KC, Detroit, just about everybody in the East. I wouldn't be so sure about Cleveland and the Yankees being down. We should be competitive with Houston and Seattle again. We never play well against the Blue Jays or Orioles. We were 2-17 against the Indians last year. Guess that has to improve by the law of averages.

caulfield12
Could have been a 1-6-3 double play ball but Crow couldn't handle it cleanly. Or 1st and 3rd with no outs and Nieto's first major league hit. Edited April 5, 2014 by caulfield12

fathom
Not a single hard hit ball with RISP today. Something that's noticeable about this lineup is that there are only 5 guys in it that are threats to hit double-digit homers.
caulfield12
0 for 7 with RISP now I think. I guess on the previous Nieto ball it would have been 1st and 3rd, 1 out. DeAza was out to begin the inning.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) Not a single hard hit ball with RISP today. Something that's noticeable about this lineup is that there are only 5 guys in it that are threats to hit double-digit homers. Semien should eventually hit 15-18. But not this year. Abreu, Viciedo, Gillaspie, DeAza should manage it. Plus no Dunn/Garcia in the line-up. The problem's not the power so much as lack of clutch hitting in the last couple of games...and the bullpen. caulfield12
Danks almost unraveled in the 4th/5th but got things back together to finish the game on a high note. Let's hope "good" Cleto shows up in the bottom of the 8th.

caulfield12
Looks like it might be Downs instead of Cleto. Semien with a nice approach against a pitcher with really good stuff in Wade Davis. Maybe that will help to rebuild his confidence. Tigers' bullpen falling apart. That will be their Achilles' heel all season. They were up 7-1 or 7-2 and now it's 7-6 with Baltimore still batting in the 9th. Edited April 5, 2014 by caulfield12
