It's not Mr. Peabody here.

Anyone who follows baseball...95% of them...would have done the same thing if presented with the exact same scenario.

And there is no guarantee Downs would have retired Moose or that moose would have batted at all.

Agreed, but at least it would have seemed like the right decision. For me, that's really all I want to see by Ventura.

I like Semiens patience or something

I love Semien, but it's Beckham time. When's he ready? Semien down for more seasoning.

I think the Sox have hit one ball in the last two games that went farther than 300 feet.

That is scary. As we all know our best teams have been HR hitting teams. MLB is like college baseball now. Not many bombs.

Yes, .500 hitter vs .000 hitter isn't a hard choice

I'm not just saying this because I worship Ozzie, but that was the worst managerial decision I can remember off the top of my head. Seriously. On paper, it was a move that can be ridiculed over and over with Moose hitting .000. The Royals probably would have pinch hit that former Twin they've picked up who is going to platoon with Moose soon if Moose keeps this up.

So you just want him to play it by the book.

Instead of facing the best hitting catcher in the game with someone who clearly struggled with his command the last time out and doesn't have much of a breaking pitch, YES.

You can go against the book when you're actually proven to have the instincts to do so, like Joe Maddon.

If they bring in a RH hitter to PH, then you have Belisario.

Pedro Ciriaco or Danny Valencia against him....or Perez/Cleto???

How is that even a choice?

Danny Valencia, or Ciriaco who is more of a SS...on the Red Sox most recently.

Abreu has 1 unintentional walk in 80ish PA's since Spring Training started. That's not concerning, right?

Swinging at everything usually catches up to a hitter with a 1-for-30 in there somewhere. Then again, Dunn draws walks and isn't exactly a good MLB hitter. Maybe Abreu will be fine, but you need to draw some walks.
