ILMOU
http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140407 Charlotte - Leesman B'Ham - McCully (while Bassitt heals) and Doyle (back from Japan?), 7 inning twin bill due to rainout yesterday Kanny - Mitchell WS - off will be most interested in Mitchell's performance tonight. Would like to see Leesman at least handle the lefties as I think that's his MLB role, if he has one.

GGajewski18
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) Beckham not in the game 1 lineup. Take your time. Beckham is going to get traded if Semien keeps doing his job in the 2 hole.
cabiness42
Beckham is going to get traded if Semien keeps doing his job in the 2 hole. Semien is 4-28. Beckham's job not even close to at risk.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) Semien is 4-28. Beckham's job not even close to at risk. The latter is correct for now, though the former is sort of ignoring the bigger picture. He was o-for-everything until very recently, made some small changes, and looks much better now. Long term it is likely Semien's job.

ILMOU
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Beckham is going to get traded if Semien keeps doing his job in the 2 hole. It's still real early. Given the slow healing of obliques, I'll predict Semien's got about two weeks from now to make an impression as a starter. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Kanny postponed tonight. Bummer. Want to see what Mitchell's got. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) The latter is correct for now, though the former is sort of ignoring the bigger picture. He was o-for-everything until very recently, made some small changes, and looks much better now. Long term it is likely Semien's job. He started 0/15. Which means he is 4 for his last 13, which is just under .333. Add in a handful of walks, and his really solid defense so far and I'd gladly wave goodbye to Beckham. caulfield12
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) He started 0/15. Which means he is 4 for his last 13, which is just under .333. Add in a handful of walks, and his really solid defense so far and I'd gladly wave goodbye to Beckham. And he would have had another hit on the infield single if not for the replay system. caulfield12
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 04:57 PM) Wish we could package Beckham for some pitching If we're lucky, it's a relief guy...with Webb upside but a couple of years away. We're not likely to get a major league ready pitcher unless Beckham just tears it up for 2 months...in which case they might decide to hold onto him and put Semien at SS, because the rest of the league wouldn't be ready to give an elite prospect anyway based on a couple of months of performance unless they were REALLY desperate. And the Tigers didn't end up making that desperation move for SS, nor have the Rangers at 2B.

Balta1701
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Wish we could package Beckham for some pitching Given their health status, something like Beckham for Tommy Hanson or someone who's always hurt seems reasonable. Wonder what he's doing these days.
maggsmaggs
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) Beckham + De Aza somewhere for a solid reliever would be nice. That is seriously undervaluing De Aza alone, not even including Beckham. You don't trade for relievers generally. I would much rather trade for prospects. oldsox
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) Amazing how bad Mitchell Boggs is now. Mr. Hahn is probably saying the same thing about both Boggs and Paulino.
caulfield12
Keppinger cost a lot more than Boggs and Paulino...as Boggs was only going to make $1.1 million, and that was if he was on the major league roster. Bedard started against us for Durham. Guess he was another guy that Hahn could have considered. Edited April 8, 2014 by caulfield12
southsider2k5
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) Amazing how bad Mitchell Boggs is now. Meh. So he pollutes Charlotte. No loss for us.
NorthSideSox72
I'm going to guess (and this is only a guess) that there is something physically wrong with Boggs, and he heads to the DL when the Sox are ready to put Hanson in Charlotte.
