MnSoxFan
Int. League, Gload at 1B, and Miles voted Rookie of the Year Southern League, Alvarez as utility man and Cotts for LHP, interesting that Humberto Quintero was C on the All Star team Carolina League, Yan at 2B Sally League, no one made it Pioneer League, Bounds at 1B and Nanita in the OF, MVP of league and all star Catcher was Lou Palmisano, a Sox draftee out of HS in 2001 in 21st round I think. Damn. Appy League, Valido for SS and Chris Young in OF.

Rex Hudler
No, not at all. I was applauding your work, not being a smartass. Damn, can't a guy be sincere once every month or so?
MnSoxFan
With all the tension on the other board, one never knows. I think our buddy is going thru a tough time right now and he blew up at the other guys and it carried over to you and others. He will be better after he gets back home I bet. :-)

You are talking about Pacheco in Birmingham. The thing the Southern League does and I think it sucks is only names two pitchers, a RH and LH Pitcher of the year. It's not like you normally think where they would name 5 starters and a relief pitcher or two. Pacheco very well could have been the RH pitcher of the year, but Hanrahan was very good as well. Scheduling didn't help Pacheco either. The Barons opened the season at Greenville when he was just a mop up guy in the pen. He made one appearance against them out of the pen. The Barons have not played Greenville again the entire season until the current series, when the voting has already been done. He pitched a total of 6 innings against Carolina, including one spot start when he was still working out of the bullpen. So in reality, there are two of the 10 teams that he wouldn't likely get votes from. It is not the best process, but it is what it is. Scheduling can work against you. His tirades are usually targeted at just one or two people, not everyone. We exchanged emails and I hope is okay. I haven't heard back from him, but he was probably already gone. My guess is the job situation isn't helping either, ya know?
MnSoxFan
Yes, it is the job situation adding to the fire I believe, he denies it, but he is a tough guy and would never admit it, he means well, he will be fwine as Wanny always said. I knew you were teasing, just thought maybe I missed it when up in the great northern territory.
dasox24
I can't believe no one has mentioned that Jeremy Reed isn't on the list for AA. Now, there was probably a certain number of AB's or games played that a player had to have to get on that list, but for Reed it shouldn't matter. He should have been on that list for AA and there's no question about it.

Cabrera's 1st half numbers were even sicker than Reed's if you can believe that. I guess the coaches that vote, vote based on guys there the whole year? winninguglyin83
Two things: Jeremy Reed got some love in the New York Times this morning. About an eight-inch story leading off its minor league roundup with quotes from Reed and Wally Backman. 2.) the all-star teams are nice, but more revealing are the top 20 prospect lists from each league. Baseball America said those will be ready by the end of September. I'm certain Reed will make the list in the Carolina and Southern leagues (I remember Vernon Wells made it in three leagues two or three years ago. I believe Rocco Baldelli was on two or three lists last year when he was named overall Minor League Player of the Year.) I also saw a note on the BA web page this week that said Reed was definitely a candidate for BA Minor League player of the year.
