What a bunch of old man yells at cloud b.s.

Overwhelmingly ive seen fans agree with him at least on social media. They think IU ball is sacred and the players aren't acting that way.

However the school handles all of this, it better be very careful of not bringing the program back to its knees like the post-Sampson cleanup.

I in no way mean that the players should get off easy or anything, just that the administration should be very cognizant of not wanting to start all the way back at square zero.

That's more on the players/coaching staff then the administration. Anything the administration does is a result of their actions/performance.

I wonder if Groce gets called if Crean is let go, I imagine he would be.

I just mean that we've all seen athletic departments bungle all sorts of stuff. Given how recently the program was gutted by the Sampson fiasco, it would be a really poor time for the athletic department to make a bad situation worse.

And I have zero idea who the next coach would be. But I don't see Crean getting fired immediately, just that it makes it even more likely he's gone after the year -- especially if there isn't market improvement on the court.

Doubt it. (1) He's not a top tier coach (yet), and (2) when's the last time a major conference coach changed jobs in the same conference? I bet the Big Ten would frown upon that move.

I don't really disagree with him. There's the annoying "Indiana is the Mecca of college basketball morality" feeling in what he's saying, but I took it as, stop giving these moronic kid excuses. If you're excited to play for Indiana basketball, you don't go partying the night before the first public scrimmage. I think that's pretty reasonable.

I mean, some athletes nowadays are just very entitled from their HS careers across the board. If I had a chance to step on the court or field at my dream school I wouldnt be partaking in drugs or alcohol, especially the night before an event.

I'd rather see that then to see idiotic fan bases making pathetic excuses for stupid behavior.

No idea. I know that I was drug tested heavily as it was but when you are training so heavily trying to fulfill your dreams I cant see going out before an event or even doing drugs in season something I would do.

The problem is people that age make dumb decisions. We all have at that age, and those who aren't there yet will. Combine that with how they have been given red carpet treatment since they have shown they were special athletically, a monster gets created. Some overcome it. Some fall predictably into the trap.

I totally get it, but I also think part of having a focused team is recruiting the right players and leaders as well as having that clean culture that some coaches can instill. You also need to have zero tolerance if you want a clean program or at least take more than a few exhibition games away from the kids.

This is definitely something Crean has struggled mightily with.

The worst part about all of this is how harsh your boy got hit with a single positive test for weed. Compare that to DUI's etc and its hilarious

He wouldve just got hurt anyway. Opened up a scholarship, this way.
