If we are in this in July or August... maybe. In April? God no.

I know its early but I think with the new attitude with the hitters it would be a shame for the bullpen to keep blowing games.

Right now we lead MLB in blowing 3 out of 4 save chances.

Who can we trade to get some bullpen help and while we are at it, we need another starter, Paulino is horrible.

I'm thinking maybe we could get something for Beckham when he's healthy, I think Semien can handle second base.

You ruined a good post with this inane idea of trading Beckham. Semien hasn't proven anything yet

NO one is trading players right now. To get a team to move someone it would take a ridiculous overpay. In a season with zero expectations, they aren't going to mortgage any prospects to get a reliever for a team that isn't going anywhere this year.

Beckham has frustrated us since his nice rookie year of 2009, it's not like we would be trading a Nellie Fox or Ryne Sandberg.

I read from Buster Olney on Twitter the other day that if the DBacks keep falling back, they could a team that folds it in early. I wouldn't mind trading for Reed again if Sox are in the race...

Early being something like June, not tax day.

Elrockin, like greg, are adult children when it comes to sports. If elrockin had his way, Buehrle, Garland, Contreras, Garcia, Dye, CQ, Swisher, AJ, etc, would still be on the team.

No

Bad use of resources.

It's not a team where you hit the panic button and do something drastic right now. Try to fix the problem internally, and then if the team is still in it at the break, then do something.

Webb should close.

I honestly think Webb closing gets a lot of guys in their proper roles. I fully endorse this.

Either has Beckham and guess who is 4 years younger?

Except that Beckham has proven something to us - in 2400 plate appearances, he's still not a very good hitter. Semien is at least exciting and talented.

Surprised you haven't jumped on the Semien bandwagon, El Rockin. I can understand being loyal to your favorite players, though. I'd just rather see Beckham on some other team.

I like the OPs idea... Semien is ready for his chance to be the everyday second baseman. Teams like the Yankees would probably pay decent for Beckham when he is ready. Their 2B, SS, 3B situation as a whole is not looking good and they have to be close to hitting the panic button... If the Sox could net a young/nearly MLB ready pitching prospect, and another (average or better) current MLB reliever for Beckham right now, I say go for it.
