Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 08:44 PM) He hasn't been stupid so far, which is a nice improvement. He was stupid in Colorado
caulfield12
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 07:44 PM) He hasn't been stupid so far, which is a nice improvement. He has gotten picked off first at least once and had a few struggles in LF, but, in general...he's been better than 2013. Low standard or bar to jump over, though...for sure. He's done some dumb stuff already. I'm not worried about his bat though, that'll be fine.

Velocity really isn't there but his breaking stuff is nasty. His velocity is sitting right where it was last year i've seen 92 consistently and I think i seen 93 once or twice. justBLAZE
Thought EJ was pretty pin point with location (was watching first few innings in BWW).

He was with his fastball in the beginning but has lost that location with the fastball but throwing his off speed really well.

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) His velocity is sitting right where it was last year i've seen 92 consistently and I think i seen 93 once or twice. Oh ok I was under the impression he could get it up to 93-94. Guess he's more of a guy that sits around 90-92, which makes sense given his 3rd/4th starter profile. His breaking stuff is nasty however if he can command those two different breaking balls he has 90-92 is plenty.
