Bmr31
Clement is still pitching in the 9th and the guy has to have close to 140 pitches. Even if they do make the playoffs, at this rate, their starters will be shot. Maybe JM is smarter than we think.
marsh
looks like he threw 123 pitches getting the CG. that's not horrible for a CG, but it's not something you want to see outing after outing from a starter.
IlliniKrush
He was fine. You don't pull him in that situation, all things considered. It wasn't

Especially with that slider he throws. He is asking for elbow problems and now Borowski says he has a sore shoulder. Their starters are gonna have their arms fall off and the pen is just about shot. Dusty Baylor doesn't handle pitchers well at all.

CWSOX45
Baker lets his starters go too deep. Look at Prior, Kerry Wood has been struggling. That's one reason the Giants lost the Series last year. CWSOX45
The Critic
ill bet they are wishing they didnt let beck go huh..........lol They supposedly asked the Padres about getting Beck back again......... And to answer the question about how you can overuse your starters AND your bullpen, if your starters throw 100+ pitches in 6 innings ( which the Cub starters have done A LOT this year ), then you still have 3 innings to fill, and Dusty Baylor loves to use all his pitchers when one or two would have done the job. The Cubs are in a no win situation.

I answered that Farnsworth throws PLENTY hard, but does that make him good? ...of course, he also said he wouldn't want Albert Pujols on his team because "he's not a 5-tool guy" and "he doesn't run or throw all that well".
