I'd go with Loaiza, but KW has had an excellent year. Not just for the moves he's made but for his attitude in making moves to win this year. He was also able to admit a mistake with Jimenez and rectify it.

I agree with Hawk. Every weakness that we had comin into this season has been strengthened thanks to the moves of Kenny Williams. I think the Alomar, Everett signing might be the moves of the year...As far as players go...It's Loaiza. Say what u want about our pitching staff...Bottom line is between Buehrle, Colon, And Garland their records combined is 32-33. Without Loaiza and his sterling numbers no telling where this team might be...
Gene Honda Civic
KW has done more this year, through making moves, to prove that he wants to win, NOW. He has helped provide a winning attitude in the dugout, where JM falls short. It takes moves from a GM like KW has made to overcome an underachieving team and thier bumbling manager. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Well, you can't say enough about the job KW has done this year, but bear in mind that imho Hawk hates Manuel. He has made a lot of subtle and not too subtle rips on Manuel, which he deserves, don't get me wrong. But if it comes down to who do we blame this year, Hawk will be the first in line taking shots at Jerry M.
Dick Allen
Well, you can't say enough about the job KW has done this year, but bear in mind that imho Hawk hates Manuel. He has made a lot of subtle and not too subtle rips on Manuel, which he deserves, don't get me wrong. But if it comes down to who do we blame this year, Hawk will be the first in line taking shots at Jerry M. Hawk did say it was the most underachieving team he has seen in 40 years the first half of the season. I think that is a slap at JM. He didn't have his team ready to play. I doubt Hawk hates JM, he just doesn't think he is a very good manager. He did take a few swipes at him last year, saying, that managers, like players, can have a bad year, and JM had a bad year. I don't think this year's performance from JM has impressed Hawk anymore than last year's. It was interesting that after those comments last season, JM was supposed to be on a panel with Hawk during Soxfest this year. They were supposed to be together a couple of times. Hawk was a no show both times, maybe he didn't want to answer questions pertaining to his comments. I also think JM's comments about anyone disagreeing with his decision to start Cotts in NY not knowing anything about baseball, may be swipe at Hawk and Ed Farmer, who also disagreed with the decision. I also think whatever Hawk thinks, JR is probably thinking similarly.
winninguglyin83
if all of these folks think JM is an idiot (and he is) and they have JR's ear (and at least Hawk does), why is Manuel still around? it's confounding

aboz56
I doubt Hawk has the guts to tell JR to fire Manuel. Also, JR is too cheap to pay Manuel after he fires him, so he has stuck with him. I really don't care for Hawk, JM or JR. As far as I'm concerned, they're all worthless in their own right. Hawk has annoyed me all season with his announcing, JR is a tight wad and JM, well, he's JM the idiot. Here's to putting Roons and Farmio on both TV and radio, firing JM and someone else buying the Sox
