The costs of throwing at high velocity at an early age...and the rash of TJ surgeries popping up all over MLB.

People are finally listening. It's amazing how your research gets denied for publication yet more higher profile researchers say the same thing and it gets published!

I hate academia.

Gimme a break are we trying to win games or what...

Sadly, no. Team would be thrilled with .500 IMO. And my opinion is we'll finish about 10 below still.

If we're going to be a little below 500, it would be good to finish with the 10th worst record to protect next year's 1st rounder. I think we'll be going after some FA's with QO's next offseason.

Chris Sale (elbow) is expected to make two rehab starts before returning to the White Sox rotation.

His two-game rehab assignment could start on Thursday, which would put him on track for a May 25 return. Sale has been out since April 19 with a flexor muscle strain in his left elbow. He threw Saturday without issue.

The Sox aren't winning anything this year. Being .500 hasn't changed that.
I know you've been trumpeting this for a long time now and logically it makes sense. But despite all the injuries , the bullpen woes, somehow the Sox have shown the resiliency to remain .500 when all logic would have you believe otherwise.

Therefore , I state, that if we get healthy and if the bullpen has come together and if we keep hitting a wild card birth is not entirely out of the question. It wouldn't hurt the fans to start voting often right now for Sox All stars. There are plenty deserving as of this moment.

I think Brooks Boyer should start making signs , or placards to hand out to any fans willing to take them and display them during the game saying " We Believe". The team believes in itself . Why shouldn't we ?

See Royals, 2003, Tony Pena as manager, Nosotros Creemos, and this team has a lot more talent that that team...led by Jose Lima's pitching and Beltran/Berroa/Randa/Sweeney/DeJesus offensively.

Sale feels brand new after simulated game, went full out last two innings...White Sox don't want him to be too amped up, problems are all muscular and not ligaments/tendons

I think Sox fans if they really got behind the team would really inspire them to perform even better.

Lol isn't May 25 sale bobble head night?

May 24, which is also Sale's slot in the rotation.

Tanaka on the 25th. Hopefully Sale is ready to go the 24th, but it would be cool if the Sox gave Tanaka his first loss.

Sale is throwing next on Thursday (5/15). Hopefully that's a rehab assignment, then another on the 5/20, and return vs Tanaka on 5/25.

Some game and scale in that one.

Fingers crossed.

The Human Spark Plug should be back by then too.

Igniter

Spanky

The Human Spark Plug

Whatever you wanna call em.

Hopefully they both stay healthy - huge parts of our core.

It'll be interesting to see who gets the bump when Sale returns amongst Rienzo, Carroll, and Noesi.

Tough call. Betting money would be on Carroll. How many options do we have without running the risk of losing him to another team, like the Cleto situation?

If we still have the option to send down Rienzo without losing him, then we'd probably give Carroll a few more starts to see if he can continue his momentum.

We pretty much know exactly what we have in Andre, at this point.

I hope he comes back on the 24th when I am there (and when it's Chris Sale bobblehead day).

It would make most sense to bump Carroll, since he is the least likely to be in the future plans of the organization.

You better hope when he throws on Thursday, it's a simulated game. If it's a real game, he'll probably be pitching fives days later...and then another five days vs the Yankees, which is the 25th. At this point, the 25th seems more likely.

Today, I'd say it would be Rienzo, Carroll, Noesi, in that order, to be sent down. That could change as more starts happen.

Not a big fan of his first comeback start being against Tanaka. I don't want him trying to prove anything.

They have been conservative enough with him. This is a time when I would follow a pitch count.
