GGajewski18
http://obstructedview.net/news-and-rumors/...-carbonell.html Says that Blue Jays and Yankees are interested in him. You guys think the Sox make any move on this guy? What exactly is this guys' scouting report?

southsider2k5
The Sox seem to be chasing after more IF and C than anything else. I think they are pretty happy with where they are in the OF unless a real game changer pops up.
sammy esposito
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) The Sox seem to be chasing after more IF and C than anything else. I think they are pretty happy with where they are in the OF unless a real game changer pops up. DeAza could be replaced. HE hit those 2 hr in the first game and has went downhill and now has leveled off below the Mendoza line. Exactly. They aren't dropping large coin on OF's right now.
Balta1701
It appears there's a very important deadline for him buried in there, from that article: If not approved before July 2nd, his signing bonus will count against a team’s allotted bonus pool in the 2014-2015 international free agency signing period, limiting the amount that teams may be willing to spend

Soxfest
Money for 2013 winter spent on Abreu. No chance they go after Daniel. Edited April 22, 2014 by Soxfest
Balta1701
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 02:22 PM) Money for 2013 winter spent on Abreu. No chance they go after Daniel. This guy's best year looks to be about an .860 OPS in Cuba. Yes he's younger, but compared to the 1.260 OPS Abreu put up...
southsider2k5
Reading the article, the guy seems to be a 4th OF ceiling. Nothing but his speed is talked about with any real depth.

Big Hurtin
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 03:16 PM) No!, don't be fooled. Those are Dominicans in Cuban wrappers.
caulfield12
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) The Sox seem to be chasing after more IF and C than anything else. I think they are pretty happy with where they are in the OF unless a real game changer pops up. The only ones out there are Frederich Cepeda (he's 34 and profiles as more of a 1B/DH going forward, playing in Japan right now) and Despaigne in terms of impact bats. At Cepeda's age, he's clearly going to be on the downside, but he wouldn't be a bad sign at all if they had to go platoon DH next year. Cubano
He is from my hometown team. He has been out for a while, but I guess he does not have the connections to get his paperwork as fast as Chapman and Puig. Why is that? Maybe because he is not as talented as the other two. He is still signable though.
