I guess that makes sense, Marcus has a good record of making contact this year and has very low strikeout numbers. Plus the guy on 1b plays a speed position.

Are you joking low strikeout numbers Semien K rate may be worst in baseball on 220 K pace?

Fixed.

To me, Semien's just another guy right now that came up from the Sox system that is incredibly overmatched at the plate. We've seen that way too often the last 15 years or so. Semien might end up being a solid player, but he's been a big disappointment so far.

Yeah, Tigers and Indians were the last two teams I would want to face at the end of the month/beginning of the month

Right because the Indians have been playing great baseball when this series started

That was clearly joking. Tyler Flowers also clearly isn't fast. Ergo how much sense did that hit and run make. It was a gift to Cleveland.

LOL, Micah Johnson literally has 2 months at AA. You're kidding right? Semien at least got a year there.

Do you know our history with the Indians?

Who gives a crap

They were on a 0-6 skid before this game with us. The Cleveland Indians this year are not a good baseball team.

I think he can be good. He needs more time. Although he has been at the major league level, he hasn't been the strikeout machines all the other prospects the Sox have seem to be on the minor league level. I think there is hope , but nothing is guaranteed.

People just need to accept that once Gillaspie returns, it will be him at 3rd and Beckham at 2nd with Semien in AAA.

His AFL numbers might have been a warning sign though of struggles for this season.

Semien got better as time went on at AA, but the jump from AA to the bigs with almost 0 time at AAA is huge. We shouldn't be surprised by him struggling, that's what we should ahve expected. At AAA a hitter is going to see better offspeed stuff than he sees at AA and better control than at AA. Semien is getting beat because he should be at AAA right now. IF no one had been hurt then he might have been a candidate for a callup in August/Sept. Instead he's here now.

This is what happens when you rush guys through a level. We did it because of injury, so I get it. But this is what you should expect.
