Kyyle23
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 12, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) Sorry Greg but you aren't allowed to suggest that the owner spend more money. You jump at the chance to mention how expensive everything is at the baseball game nowadays but in the same token, you want the owner to spend more $$ on players. There is quite a disconnect here. LOL! QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2014 -> 07:22 AM) That was a fun season...except for the Blue Jays' buzzsaw of a rotation. It was so bizarre to see that date there. It isnt like it was Comcast back then

ewokpelts
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 9, 2014 -> 05:49 PM) According to Wikipedia it's 20% NBCUniversal, 20% Ricketts, 20% Wirtz, and 40% Reinsdorf The 40 percent is slit between the bulls and sox. Those are technically seperate stakes. Although the sox DO control rights of rust refusal for the 20 percent the cubs own. Meaning, the cubs have to ask the sox first when they decide to sell. ewokpelts
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) So Jerry gets all that income as well? There's no reason the Sox aren't huge spenders in this s*** division. Let's face it, there are some Jerry apologists on here. He got us a WS title so I like him for that and all the Bulls titles, but let's face it, he is not a "good" baseball owner. He's just not. I won't go into all the rea$ons but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. The sox get to split 67 millon five ways. Wow. Here we come! The "value" is based off a sale of the station. Sox get more money from the tv contract than they get from CSN revenues.
ewokpelts
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 9, 2014 -> 07:09 PM) Have you ever read how reinsdorf made his money originally? He was a tax lawyer that went into real estate.
harfman77
QUOTE (ewokpelts @ May 12, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) The sox get to split 67 millon five ways. Wow. Here we come! The "value" is based off a sale of the station. Sox get more money from the tv contract than they get from CSN revenues. This. There isn't a ton or real value there until the stake in the network is liquidated. The Yankees have been selling off chunks of YES to Fox over the last five years to boost their cash on hand while still reeling in the money from the contract. All that this valuation does is add another $200M to the sale price of the Sox.
