Ugh. Our amazing hitting coach needs to get our hitters more consistent.

This is a pitcher you need a lot of lefties to face, and if you look at the Sox lineup, 3 of the 5 lefties playing tonight have no business starting in a MLB lineup at this point of the season. Oh well, maybe they'll fight hard in the 9th again.

I'm sorry but Chavez does not have that great of stuff. We are just bailing this guy guy out.

That 2.32 ERA isn't a misprint.

Jared Weaver could also dominate us, usually had "great" stuff in his secondary offerings, but wasn't anywhere close to a fireballer in recent years.

Here's a serious question. Everybody talks about Oakland being the "smartest" team in baseball in terms of Sabes and scouting.

Do you think they laugh their asses off when they play the Sox (at least prior to the arrival of Abreu) cause they just KNOW they have the Sox tendencies well under control? Are we pretty much beaten vs. the A's before the game begins cause of scouting/Sabes, etc?

Makes sense to me. We do have some lousy lefties playing.

No, but they laugh at our attendance :)

DeAza, Garcia and Nieto resent that comment, lol.

Hopefully it will spur them on to a great comeback. But not counting on it in Oakland. The more recent nightmares are related to Thornton and Santiago trying to close out games there.

Greg, that was a decade plus ago.

The Red Sox, Rays, Mariners, Astros, Pirates, Cardinals...there are a SLEW of teams that are now known for even more quantitative than the original OPS/OBP fixation.

Fathom, do you still want Josh Reddick for RF?

Going back to that Santos trade...

Well, isn't anything better than Nestor Molina? Still one of the strangest trades in Sox history.

That's the second successful bunt at 3B tonight.

Not sure if it was the right baseball play by Cespedes, though, he's paid to drive in runs with 2 outs. But if they give it to you, might as well take advantage until the defense/opposing coaching staff makes an adjustment.

Yep, it ranks up there with the Zach Stewart acquisition and the wonderful package we received from the Yankees for Nick Swisher.

Payback for Sirotka, lol.

If you are a hitter and the defense has that kind of a radical shift, you just HAVE to learn how to bunt. It's stupid and selfish IMO to hit into the shift for easy outs. Kudos to Redick.

Redick ... what a smart play. It can't be that hard to learn to pop a bunt that way. He should do that 80 percent of the time when the shift is on.

The White Sox always accidentally pop bunts....90% of the time, it's not by plan, it's failure in execution, which is the only way they're rewarded for messing it up so badly it becomes a hit.

How is Leury Garcia looking in CF so far?

We get it. You're negative all the time in every game thread. Great shtick.

You have been here about 2 weeks like your opinion matters to me, go back to your hole silly Rabbit.
