elrockinMT
QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) Sox pitching has worst ERA, WHIP, K/BB ratio and pitches per plate appearanc Makes you wonder what happened. Dick Allen
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) Shields or Masterson seems more likely. Why would anyone want to pay Masterson what you have to pay him? In seasons he has stsrted at least 10 games he has had an ERA under 4.50 only 2 times. elrockinMT
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 21, 2014 -> 12:58 AM) How has Gillaspie not homered yet? Seems like his hits are all line drives, which is ok, but that must be his approach at this time.
Soxfest
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) Shields or Masterson seems more likely. Pass on Masterson his fastball is down 3 mph from last year. He does not look the same this year at all.
fathom
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 21, 2014 -> 12:53 AM) Makes you wonder what happened. We were good last year-the bright spot if you will in an otherwise dismal season For starters, Danks being a disaster since returning from injury hasn't helped. The pitching was solid last season...just about league average in the AL.
Marty34
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) Shields or Masterson seems more likely. Two starters are needed for next year. I think it would be silly to count on anything from the farm.

Agreed., unfortunately they just haven't come close to developing any starting pitching the last two years.

Yet Hawk loves the toolsy picked players and how is that working out Hawk? Sox cannot even call up a decent OF we have to get scraps off waivers. Dick Allen
When Hawk was the GM he damn near traded for Andre Dawson. It was so close to happening Dawson took BP with a Sox cap on.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) That is exactly what he did. Bad stride pattern. He peeked back to look at the throw from Aoki . When he saw Aoki lobbed it in he went to 3rd. Very hard to keep your stride looking back over your shoulder then pick uo 2nd base which he was very close to.

Pretty much disagree with everything Hawk/Stone just said over the last 10 minutes, which probably means they're right.
