witesoxfan
The Reds released knuckler Jared Fernandez today.... Jared Fernandez released Think we should take a shot on him? Sign him to a minor league deal and then see what he can do in ST? Maybe he could be a decent 6th starter in case one of our own goes down with an injury or something like that. Chisoxfn
Is this the knuckleballer thats supposed to have a good fastball as well? I don't know much about the guy, but as long as he's cheap, I say go for it. Its always good to have backup plans.
DonkeyKongerko
well knuckleballers arent much of an injury risk but i also think you can usually tell what you are getting with one of these guys. i mean this guys 30 years old and probably been scouted pretty thoroughly. i only think there are a few knuckleballers that can actually help carry a team. maybe wakefield in his prime. steve sparks anyone? Chisoxfn
Well, if he's 30 and hasn't proved anything I'll pass on him. I'd rather spend a minimum salary on someone like JB.
aboz56
I've seen him pitch plenty at Louisville (AAA) and this guy is not worth 2 cents. He's a decent starter at the minor league level at best. If he can't pitch for the Reds, he can't pitch for us. Anyone who would consider signing him is a completely moronic GM. Oh well then it is a perfect move for Kenny Williams!
