NorthSideSox72
So, of the previous FS Top 25, 5 of them have already graduated: Abreu (1), EJohnson (2), Semien (4), Webb (11), Petricka (15). Also from the "Others" list, Nieto and Leesman have graduated. We've also now got players with 150+ PA or inning equivalent, so we have some data to work with. This is PRE-DRAFT of course, and before any mid-season trades. Right now, who are your Top 10? Or heck, if you want to, go deeper to 25. Here's my shot at it, and I didn't research this heavily either - just off the cuff, to start a discussion... 1. Anderson 2. Hawkins 3. MJohnson 4. Davidson 5. Beck 6. Sanchez 7. Danish 8. Ravelo 9. Thompson 10. Michalczewski 11. Adolfo 12. Snodgress 13. Montas 14. Rondon 15. Jaye 16. AMitchell 17. May 18. KSmith 19. Barnum 20. Ortiz 21. Engel 22. Bassitt 23. Recchia 24. Hansen 25. ALopez Just missed... Guerrero Surkamp Olacio Goldberg Lowry Coats I'm sure I missed a few "oh yeah" guys.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) Has Johnson graduated? He was sent down pretty quickly this year. Over the innings limit.
NorthSideSox72
To me, those top 3 stand out, but 4 through 7 are very interchangeable.
Jake
My top would look something like this, I think: 1. Micah Johnson 2. Courtney Hawkins 3. Matt Davidson 4. Tim Anderson 5. Tyler Danish 6. Trayce Thompson 7. Chris Beck 8. Rangel Ravelo 9. Trey Michalczewski 10. Carlos Sanchez
caulfield12
Rondon and Montas (in particular) have the ability to jump into the Top 10. 1. Hawkins 2. Micah Johnson 3. Davidson 4. Anderson 5. Beck 6. C. Sanchez 7. Danish 8. Ravelo 9. Trey Michalczewski 10. Montas 11. Adolfo 12. Rondon 5-10 drive you crazy. So many question marks with each of those guys. For the moment, decided to move on from believing Thompson will ever put it together.
maggsmaggs
1. Anderson 2. M. Johnson 3. Danish 4. Hawkins 5. Davidson 6. Michalczewski Then a whole bunch of what ifs. I personally am very high on Michalczewski. He is showing some very nice tools in Low-A Ball and is 2.5 years younger than the average age. Love that he is a switch-hitter who at 19 already is showing a really good eye at the plate. Could definitely stand to cut down on the Ks, but that should come. I am not sure about his defense, but the bat looks very projectable.
winninguglyin83
1. Johnson 2. Hawkins 3. Anderson 4. Danish 5. Sanchez 6. Michalczewski 7. Beck 8. Montas 9. Ravelo 10. Davidson Wendelken somewhere in the Top 20?
caulfield12
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 20, 2014 -> 08:54 PM) 1. Johnson 2. Hawkins 3. Anderson 4. Danish 5. Sanchez 6. Michalczewski 7. Beck 8. Montas 9. Ravelo 10. Davidson Wendelken somewhere in the Top 20? Davidson has gone from a Top 100 prospect in all of baseball to almost outside of the Top 10 of one of the worst systems in baseball in the span of two months? cabiness42
Can I rank "2014 Draft Pick 1-3" as #1 even if we don't know who he is yet???
NorthSideSox72
I'm surprised how high some folks have Montas, and that no one other than me put Anderson #1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 21, 2014 -> 07:52 AM) Can I rank "2014 Draft Pick 1-3" as #1 even if we don't know who he is yet??? Well yeah. We do our next FS list in late July or early August, after draft signings and the trade flurry are complete, so most likely the list looks a lot different then. This is the pre-list. harfman77
1. Hawkins - Still has more upside than anyone in the system and is now playing like he belongs in pro ball 2. Anderson - A lot of upside, still very raw 3. Micah Johnson - We'll see how he adjusts to AAA, but has done a solid job at every level thus far, probably not All-Star level upside though 4. Davidson - Big power but the big holes in his swing keep him dropping down the list 5. Danish - Great GB rate, needs to miss more bats to be more than a mid-rotation guy 6. Carlos Sanchez - Still really young for AAA, rebounded well in the winter and a guy that could be a solid #2 hitter for a long time 7. Rondon - Best glove in the system and developing offensive talent to give him a chance 8. Michalczewski - Great job going overslot to grab him, settling in as the first home grown 3B prospect since Crede 9. May - A rough start to the season, but there is talent there 10. Beck - Once predicted as a top 10 pick, needs to develop his slider to reach his potential

LDF
my list based on my wishful thinking. 1. Micah Johnson - what is there not to like 2. Tyler Danish - improving fast 3. Trey Michalczewski - continues to shine 4. Carlos Sanchez - this is based on my guess and what the stats says 5. Tim Anderson - hitting improving, defense ??? 6. Francellis Montas - i like his makeup 7. Brad Goldberg - same as #6, may be the 2 or 3 player to the majors 8. Matt Davidson - at this time, needs head screw on right 9. Courtney Hawkins - lets see how this yr develops 10. Andrew Mitchell - came out of no where to shine Cleuluis Rondon + Kevin Vance + Rangel Ravelo are too close to call. caulfield12
Let's not forget, Anderson has only 2 walks and 36 K's on the season. He's the definition of raw/toolsy/tons of potential but completely unrefined at the moment.

I just don't agree with that top 10 at all. Trey Michalczewski at 3 is way too high while Hawkins all the way down at 9 is ridiculous.
