GGajewski18
Surkamp has been pitching well and I'm a big fan of Wendelken. Hopefully they both pitch well today.
flavum
Homer for Carlos Sanchez. Who had May 25th in the pool?
fathom
Another error for Anderson. I liked the pick, but it's a shame JP Crawford didn't fall to the Sox Edited May 25, 2014 by fathom

fathom
Matt Davidson hot streak didn't last long. For all the Mitchell bashing, he has had a better season than Davidson Edited May 25, 2014 by fathom

caulfield12
Except Davidson's on an upwards trend recently, with a 795 OPS the last ten games, including his 6th homer today. Mitchell's OPS is completely padded by all those walks, 30 in 99 AB's. Has there ever been someone in recent history with under 100 PA's, 30 walks and 29 TB's? 678 OPS. winninguglyin83
hard to be excited about Sox farm system. Quick calculation -- they're 44 games below .500, not an inspiring group.
caulfield12
Make that 2 errors and 21 for the season already on Anderson. Gulp. CF might not be far away.
Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 25, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) hard to be excited about Sox farm system. CF might not be far away. Seriously, I know Jeter made a s***load of errors in the minors, but enough is enough with Anderson. He was a suspect at SS to begin with. Pull the plug and put him in the outfield. It may actually help his offense too. Less to worry about. Edited May 25, 2014 by flavum
caulfield12
QUOTE (flavum @ May 25, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Seriously, I know Jeter made a s***load of errors in the minors, but enough is enough with Anderson. He was a suspect at SS to begin with. Pull the plug and put him in the outfield. It may actually help his offense too. Less to worry about. He famously made 50+ in Greensboro in 1993. I don't think they let Anderson get anywhere near that total. They'll put him at 2B or the outfield or even DH. I'd guess he has another couple of months before they make that determination. There has to be a growing concern his defensive problems are carrying over to the offensive side of his game.

Four bad teams. minimal pitching prospects. Johnson, Sanchez, Hawkins, Anderson, Ravelo and a few other intriguing names as position guys. But there's not a lot to get excited about. And it translated in to him being a below average, sometimes awful SS in the majors. So that example shouldn't inspire anyone. Haha.
Bruce_Blixton
Kevan Smith 3 for 4 with a double and a couple of RBIs, putting together a very solid season. In fact both he and Phegley have been been having very productive seasons.

LDF
QUOTE (oldsox @ May 26, 2014 -> 12:34 AM) It's a start. imo, you hope for a couple of prospects to developed and bring them along, hoping for 1 day to make it to Majors. expecting the whole minors, to be buzzing with prospects, while it would be nice, is not really going to happen. especially when we are rebuilding, to put it mildly. Bigsoxhurt35
IMO it'll take Atleast 2 more years before we can get excited about the farm. Gota let the guys develop and draft some more good players and sign a couple international prospects

Gota let the guys develop and draft some more good players and sign a couple international prospects Same thing was posted a year or two ago. Fact is, they are approx 44 games under .500 collectively, and it's tough to get excited. From here, it does not look like a farm system on the rise. Just trying to be objective. The draft will help, but it will help others also.
oldsox
QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ May 25, 2014 -> 07:28 PM) Kevan Smith 3 for 4 with a double and a couple of RBIs, putting together a very solid season. In fact both he and Phegley have been been having very productive seasons. Smith looks like a guy who keeps improving. If Davidson had those numbers, everyone would be estatic; with Smith, he is "too old".
