The Ultimate Champion
I ain't f***in around, seriously, we need a forum for the Sale trade rumors. You don't have to be a psychic to see those things coming. The offseason is almost here.

flavum
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 07:56 PM) Felix's ERA now at 2.34... Sale leads AL at 2.20 Wow, Felix got torched in a must win game. Probably not a unanimous Cy, but he and Kluber are the clear 1-2. Sale will get most of the 3rd place votes, I would think. Jose Abreu
Sale has won the ERA battle as Hernandez, even with a CG shutout, would be at 2.25, .08 shy of Sale.

nickofypres
Sale is 8th in fWAR in the AL, but has 7-8 less starts than Kluber, Felix, Price, Lester, Hughes, and Scherzer. ERA title is nice, but ERA isn't that tall-telling of a stat. I think Kluber should win the Cy Young. He has the best fWAR, best FIP, and second best xFIP in the AL for starters. nickofypres
QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 04:07 PM) Great season, Chris! Agreed. Sale had an amazing season and if he had been healthy, and pitched brilliantly in those 5 weeks, he missed he very well could have won it. But, alas this isn't the year he brings it home. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 04:09 PM) Sale is 8th in fWAR in the AL, but has 7-8 less starts than Kluber, Felix, Price, Lester, Hughes, and Scherzer. ERA title is nice, but ERA isn't that tall-telling of a stat. I think Kluber should win the Cy Young. He has the best fWAR, best FIP, and second best xFIP in the AL for starters. I'm guessing Sale will end his year with a 5.5 WAR (5.2 before today's start) in 26 starts. Take that WAR-per-start and multiple it by 33 to make him even with Kluber and Felix in starts, and their WAR looks like this.... Kluber/Sale - 7.0 WAR Felix - 6.0 WAR

ChiliIrishHammock24
Thanks a bunch Torre, you f***. Took a whole week and the conclusion of Kluber's season to finally decide Felix needs a bunch of points shaved off his ERA? I hope he gets lit up today. SoxAce
I believe if Felix gives up 2 runs today, Sale still wins the ERA title.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Felix only has to go 6 innings of 1 ER or less to steal the ERA title away. Why doesn't Joe Torre go take a look at Sale's start vs. KC on the 17th of this month when there was a blooper in to RF that fell between Semien, Eaton, and Avi. And then Eaton had the ball kick off his leg allowing the runner who was on 1st at the start of the play, to score??? That was an obvious error on Eaton and should shave Sale's ERA from 2.17 to 2.12. Where's that change, Joe?
ChiliIrishHammock24
Felix has 2 scoreless innings so far. Not even sure how much longer the Angels will play anyone good, so this ERA title is just being completely gifted to Felix.
