almagest
I love watching guys like Kershaw pitch, even if it's against us. He's just strike 1 strike 2 all the time, and that curveball is a genuine wipeout pitch. Luckily we've got a guy like this of our own.
BigHurt3515
QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) As someone who sat down the 3rd baseline on Saturday and sat 1st baseline on Sunday...sit down 1st baseline. Are you saying this because of the sun?? I obviously have no idea if it will be hot or not that day so its a gamble

Feeky Magee
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 09:19 PM) Most of their fans love not having a DH. I don't know why. Oh because it's so magical when a pitcher gets a big hit, even though they have like a .333 OPS every year and cause lineup chaos and yay sac bunting
chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 11:20 PM) Out of curiosity what are the garbage hitter comments referring to? Anonymous scout relayed by Keith Law I believe about "slider bat speed", implying as long as you can jam him inside he'll get himself out on the hard stuff and no reason to try to fool him offspeed. Well, that's the MO on him and so far he has a wRC+ of 140. Scouting report might have been half accurate, in a way. The thing is, and most observers realized this about Jose, is that every hitter, unless they are 'roids Barry Bonds or .400 Ted Williams, has a weakness. The key is -- does he have a strength? It's pretty obvious what Abreu's is -- massive, tremendous power. Edited June 3, 2014 by chitownsportsfan
brian310
I believe those comments were made though by scouts of teams that wanted him so they could drive the price down and try to create less suitors.

CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) Another nice inning from the feathered serpent. I was at that game in Dodger Stadium in 2012 when Q went 8 and gave up like 2 hits and I think the Sox brought in Reed to pitch the 9th and he gave up a run , then another RP gave up a run in the 10th and the Sox lost 2-1. It's mainly the reason why I always believed in Q when others were questioning weather or not he could sustain being a top starter. I also trace his troubles with no decisions back to that game Edited June 3, 2014 by CaliSoxFanViaSWside
