cwsox
No 1-0 ELo shutout here!!!! and where were you in the game thread when most of our own fans were posting as if we had 100 losses? this is the most bipolar group of people I have ever spent time with we are in first and no one thinks we got there because we win games - get down 0-1 with this group and it is slash wrists and really depressing posts I enjoy listening to the Tiger broadcasters because they keep praising our FIRST PLACE team and in the 6th, they still thought there were more innings to be played rather than give up like our fans - it is not our players who quit, it is our fans our fans are quitters and bandwagon riders rough talk but I am not pulling any punches with this group of "we suck" give ups - go through the game thread and find every post like that - and these are supposed to be people cheering for our team - now of course that we had a 4-2 road trip every mid game quitter will be proclaiming their die hard Sox fan ness when instead "wilt easy" describes more folks than "die hard" does

DonkeyKongerko
We have lost more than a few one-run games to Detroit this year. I have always believe we have a chance to win but Detroit has really played us tough this year.
Flash Tizzle
Im thinking of having a good laugh going through the game day thread. Betting on it being entertaining. I don't know what facing Conerjo does to our team, but this guy has (well had) our number this season. I can't believe I'm glad we don't have to face the Tigers the rest of the season. All Im asking of the Tigers is to play this way against MInn and KC.

JUGGERNAUT
I could care less about 11-8 vs the Tiggers this year. They played us tough & we are done with them. That's all that counts. Right now both the Twinks & Roys are losing so this is shaping up for a good day for the SOX. I've said all year long that the talent can overcome Manuel's stupidity & all of you naysayers lose hope every time they lose 2 in a row. Well the MN is down to 27 & could be 25 if KC losses both. 2 bad boys left in BOS & NYY & then it's head to head winner take all. Sounds like a perfect scenario for our beloved SOX. There is nothing worse than a bunch of pathetic repepitive whining post after post. The game threads are becoming very difficult to read and very depressing to read with the increased we suck we can't win this team is filled with quitters quitting and whining and wilting that every game thread gets filled with every time we trail the thought of reading a month of game threads in a division title race knowing that yes we will trail in some games again is more than I care to contemplate I find myself going over to the mlb boards to get away from the negatvity and motor posting of "we suck we have no chance we can never win" FOR A FIRST PLACE TEAM and I never thought anything would get me back to reading the mlb boards

cwsox
I get all frustrated when we lose, and am never happy when we trail, but I can't control what happens on the field I can control whether I am going to recall a lifetime of baseball expeience that says "sometimes teams trail and still win" especially when we had this same experience with Detroit the Friday after the all star game (and was that cornejo pitching too or am I wrong on that...) or whether I am going to lose it. It is my firm conviction that when you trail, in life or in baseball, the thing to do is stay calm, stay in control, and believe that one can pull it out rather than punch things, punch people, or toss off verbal abuse in any direction. We will lose games between now and the end of the season. If we lose it every time we trail or lose, we won't win anything, or be fit company for each other. We can lose 8 games in the post season and trail in 19 and still win it all. To reach that goal, winning it all, gotta stay calm in the face of adversity. But we have lost to this team 1-0 twice before. So when were down 1-0 in the 7th it's hard not to be negative. But all in all we won. That's all that matters. cwsox
As far as bipolar,. of course, thats called being a whitesox fan. not in my experience - not at all. It may be a factor of the cyber room or something else, but hope and resignation may define two emotions in Sox fans, but not these rapid mood swings and the "that's it, I'm done with this game/team/whatever" as so frequently posted, usually about the 5th or 6th inning, and all of the extreme negativity. The game thread for today - assuming nothing has been deleted by the authors - is a massive clinical testament and clinical witness to manic depression, especially under the diagnostic manual IV. LOL its called being a fan dude. I wont post here what i think of your manic depressive comment but i will say that some people just dont want their hopes up too high. In general, im a very positive person. THis whitesox team is a organization that i couldnt even explain to you the love i have for them. Its beyond words. I get sick of being disappointed by them. Ive said this once before, but may i suggest that just maybe this team means more to others than it does to you? Just a guess. It has nothing to do with bandwagon or quitting. Id love to allow you to see my view, but im aware that prolly wont happen.
Spiff
oh christ. you think the fans might be so bi-polar because the whole team is bi-polar? we beats the yankees by a combined 24-4 and four days later we are a few innings away from a 1-0 loss to detroit, another loss loaiza doesn't deserve, and losing a series to the tigers, a team that has more than 1/4 of all their wins against us? the opposite of love is not hate but indifference. Spiff, not what I wrote at all. Read it again, and read the game thread. A certain segment of the fans exhibit manic behavior with their utter despair and that is in today's game thread as well as in others. I have never made a comment on the team other that to praise our players for not being quitters as some of our fans accuse them of being, instead, I think some our fans are quitters. You are a good guy Spiff. Please read what I said more carefully. read the game thread and all too, carefully. I suspect a few posts were deleted by their authors because of the extreme negatvity and absolute certainly that we were losers because we were trailing by a run in the 5th and 6th inning of a team, and the comments that accompanied that. But read the thread carefully, that and threads like it is what I refer to, and I am far from the only person who ahs npoticed the extreme mood swings by some of our fans. And as good a student as you are, please do me the favor, whether you agree or disagree, of reading what I write with acuuracy. Your intelligent and informed comments, in agreement or disagreement, would be constructive and welcome for me.
