ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) The Cubs are the only ones who really went off of the rails tonight, followed by the Marlins. Well it worked out well with Hayden Simpson. He doesn't even play the sport anymore. He got torched in INDEPENDENT ball. LOL.
Ozzie Ball
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Pirates might have a surprise pick evidently. Yep if it's Cole Tucker BA have him ranked at #84.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 08:27 PM) Part of me feels that with the Cubs picking behind the Sox, the Sox were a little more willing to go big and not have to answer questions about being cheap or avoiding Boras. I don't think and also hope that the Cubs don't influence the Sox moves in any way.
fathom
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 01:27 AM) Pirates might have a surprise pick evidently. Especially considering they have that extra pick from the Marlins trade

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) Part of me feels that with the Cubs picking behind the Sox, the Sox were a little more willing to go big and not have to answer questions about being cheap or avoiding Boras. I honestly don't think it had any impact. Hahn said repeadedly that money wasn't that big of a factor and if they guy they wanted was there they'd take him. That's what happened. Soxbadger
Not about money. About the fact that historically speaking the Sox stay away from Boras prospects in the draft. Im trying to think of anyone after Bobby Seay who the Sox drafted and was Boras. I know Crede was but Im not sure if he was Boras when drafted. Funnily enough when you google "Carlos Rondon" quite a few people have made the same mistake. Damn latin surnames.

He's going to be a top 30 guy in all of the minors probably, so yeah, doubt it's even close.

Yeah after this draft and the international signing period the Sox have a strong chance of easily having a 15 farm system, maybe even top ten.
