Heads22
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:56 PM) I'm super uncomfortable with the board being so over the moon goofy over a Sox draft pick, very unsettling. Somebody freak out and call for KW's head for old time's sake! Lance Broadway was also a college pitcher and he didn't turn out well at all. flavum
Just coming on here now--avoided the spoilers. When the Marlins took Kolek, yeah, I yelled a little. /meatball Happy with Rodon. Hope he's the second lefty in the pen by August.
Buehrle>Wood
Was Kolek to Marlins rumored much?
caulfield12
Wow, really early for Freeland. Most were projecting the teens or early 20's. Small frame/durability has always been the concern...a bit like Gio Gonzalez in that sense.
Ozzie Ball
Love Freeland still going this high despite the medical concerns. I really like him.
BlackSox13
Any guesses / rumors as to who the Sox take in the second?
oldsox
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) Yep, exactly. All those people questioning our fandom and being so visirol about us rooting for the Sox to lose now get to bathe in the reward of having Carlos Rodon on this team. We were sitting at like pick #11 before myself and others decided to bite the bullet and root for Sox losses. Now let's see who goes #11 to Toronto and ask everyone if they would trade Carlos Rodon for that person. The answer is going to be f*** NO. new word? Kalapse
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Was Kolek to Marlins rumored much? Yeah, died down the past few weeks but the Marlins love prep heat.
Heads22
Wait, did we know that Lance Broadway is now an actor on Broadway and was in Olympus Has Fallen?
oldsox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 05:58 PM) Wow, really early for Freeland. Most were projecting the teens or early 20's. DirtySox
Freeland was another one of my favorites. Hope he turns out great. Very Sale-esque.
ChiliIrishHammock24
I am guessing the Blue Jays go for Touissant here and then Hoffman at #11.

Hell of a tandem they could get there. I hear they were deep on Pentecost though.
chetkincaid
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:37 PM) Schwarber is basically Prince Fielder which is why this pick doesnt make any sense. Prince Fielder? Nah... Jason Kubel.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) new word? It is a pill developed by Novartis for shortage of pitching

ChiliIrishHammock24
Alright guys, visirol (or however I spelled it) was supposed to be visceral. Back to regularly scheduled analysis.
NCsoxfan
Guys remember who Rodon has pitched against too. His whole career he's faced UNC who has had one of the top offenses in the country. Go back and look at his stats in those games. He absolutely dominated them, many who will be drafted this weekend including Michael Russell etc
Melissa1334
So awesome, even though bucket had us freaking out about us getting Jackson haha
caulfield12
Wow...thought Hoffman would go two spots later. Guess he's still asking for a significant amount of money...unless the team picking 10th was likely to be looking at him as well, logic would have dictated taking the guy they wanted the most at 9, but who knows? Will be very interesting to see how long it takes him to make it to the majors. Savings on the draft pool allotment I guess...in theory. Great gamble, but Reynolds/Gammons are right, the odds are pretty high he will have a second TJ within 5-7 years, which would really derail his career for good. Now we know how the Jays board started - didn't want to risk losing him over the NYM behind them.
