NorthSideSox72
Recchia still among my favorite fringe guys in the system. Had his worst AA outing last time out, though it still wasn't bad, so it will be interesting to see if he bounces back in the day game. We've all got a couple guys we like that no one else seems to, and he's one of those for me.

NorthSideSox72
Eh, looking at the game log, maybe he isn't doing bad. 1 BB, 5 K through 3 IP, and the 5 hits he's given up are: Jamal Austin singles on a soft fly ball to right fielder Michael Earley. Daniel Paolini singles on a soft fly ball to left fielder Trayce Thompson. Jamal Austin to 3rd. Daniel Paolini to 2nd on the throw. Ji-Man Choi doubles (1) on a line drive to right fielder Michael Earley. Jamal Austin scores. Daniel Paolini scores. Nathan Melendres singles on a ground ball to right fielder Michael Earley Patrick Kivlehan singles on a line drive to left fielder Trayce Thompson. Ji-Man Choi to 2nd. So only 2 hard-hit balls, and one of the baserunnners was on via the strikeout-wild-pitch.

Quin
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:08 PM) Davidson is 4 for his last 33 with 3 homers Well, the power is there.
maggsmaggs
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) Well, the power is there. He's probably third on the Organizational Depth Chart at 3B with Gillaspie and Semien both ahead of him.

fathom
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 03:27 AM) Is he a better hitter than Addison Reed? Well, they have quite the battle this year in terms of homers hitter vs homers allowed
Feeky Magee
Small sample size but since his demotion Marcus Semien has 9 walks and 2 strikeouts. Definitely showing the type of BB:K ratio that made him such a big prospect at AA, fell last year in AAA and plummeted in the majors. Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:32 PM) Small sample size but since his demotion Marcus Semien has 9 walks and 2 strikeouts. Definitely showing the type of BB:K ratio that made him such a big prospect at AA, fell last year in AAA and plummeted in the majors. Good. Hope he keeps it up until called upon
chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 11:49 PM) Good. Hope he keeps it up until called upon Well, in MLB, he'll get cornered to death, as we saw. The power is there, as are the walks, but you can't go deep into every count like that unless you're a special talent, and Marcus is a fine player but he's not that. That said, if he can put enough balls in play to hit just 270, in today's new environment if he goes 270/340/380, he's pretty valuable as a super sub or infielder. Even 250/320/360 is a fairly useful bench player.
