And only a game out of last place. AL Central is a major suck fest again

+/- games to .500 by divison....

AL East - 10 game under

AL West - 16 games over

NL East - 3 games under

NL Central - 3 games under

NL West - 2 games under

AL Central - 4 games over

The AL Central does not suck. The AL Central is (at least by this metric) the 2nd best division on baseball. We don't have any great teams, but we don't have any bad teams either. The AL West is just a bloodbath.

Don't worry, Saurez will ruin Sale's pretty little line tomorrow. He seems like the type that would.

If that happens, there will be a REAL story. Suarez.

Verlander, now 6-6, has allowed 31 earned runs and 49 hits over his last 37 2/3 innings.

The AL Central has the most the second lowest run differential of the six divisions. But our lowest is only -16, which is the highest lowest if I'm reading the standings correctly.

Take it for what its worth.

Verlander "that's on me" video....blames the walks/control, says his stuff was good...the only hard hit ball was Abreu's, etc.

“God, it's really frustrating,” Verlander said. “I feel like I'm right there, and there's been a bunch of games where I feel like it's been right there and then a couple walks and turns in to a big inning. But the stuff is there, just execute a little bit better and repeat.

“Really I felt good, just the walks,” Verlander said. “I need to limit the walks. That one huge inning, I walked a few guys and gave up a couple weak hits and turned it in to a big inning when it shouldn't have been. But like I said, overall stuff felt good. Those big innings I need to limit those walks. I start trying to go a little harder and I end up losing control a little bit, and that's what allowed those guys to have that extended inning.”

No love for Danks in here??? That was his 10th quality game in 12 starts. His ERA in those 10 starts is 2.86. Might not get the attention because his ERA overall is above 4, thanks in part to the 2 non quality starts where he gave up 15 runs, but IMO he's right up there with Q as our 2nd best pitcher. They both have 10 quality starts, only 12 other pitchers have more.

Honestly I continue to be amazed. I think one of my favorite things in baseball is when a pitcher starts to breakdown and not feature their stuff anymore, and refocuses and starts finding ways to get it done with stuff that would write-off a prospect.

Sale-Quintana-Danks has been consistently keeping us up when our bats cooled, and Rienzo/noesi have been good enough.

I would really love a June in the mold of 2010.

Suckfest or competitive balance? Look at all the races and in most the teams are close to each other in the standings. I think major league baseball expansion is possible and would enable us to get rid of the ridiculous interleague scheduling. Maybe we will see that decision made in 3-5 years?

I think Danksy is getting stronger and recovering from surgery nicely. He is doing a real good job and his efforts are paying off

His ERA is down a run and a half over his last four starts. The guy has been Buehrle-esque.
