Jake
Sox lineup: Eaton 8 Beckham 4 Abreu 3 Viciedo 7 Ramirez 6 Konerko DH Sierra 9 Flowers 2 Garcia 5 No KC lineup on twitter just yet. Screw them anyway. Get a win today, boys!
flavum
Every time the Sox look like they're about to start a 7-game losing streak, they win a couple games. Hope that continues.

ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) Flowers just a automatic strikeout. Fixed your post. In Tyler Flowers last 18 AB, he has 16 strikeouts. That's an 89% K-rate. That's actually impressive at this point. Can we start calling him K-Flow now? greg775
I know Flowers is terrible, but I think L. Garcia is not a big league hitter either.
fathom
One of the worst 7-8-9 for a Sox lineup I can recall. It's not good when Konerko is one of your toughest outs.
ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 01:48 PM) I know Flowers is terrible, but I think L. Garcia is not a big league hitter either. And neither is Sierra. For as good as our offense has been this year, we have some GLARING holes on this team. At least Luery provides speed and versatility. K-Flow is laughably useless at this point. Release him, call up Phegley, and let Phegs and Nieto be the L/R platoon.

Release him, call up Phegley, and let Phegs and Nieto be the L/R platoon. What about sending Flowers down for a month and hope when he returns he can get some hits as he did the first 5 weeks. You are right. I forgot about Sierra he's not a big leaguer either. Today's lineup is pretty bad cause Paulie is so slow. If he doesn't hit a rare homer he brings nothing but a possible single. I don't know what they see in L. Garcia though. If anybody should be released it should be he and Sierra and Flowers should be sent down for six weeks and try to learn how to hit once and for all. flavum
So it looks like the Sox aren't scoring today, and we're waiting for Noesi's one bad inning in the 5th or 6th...k great.
greg775
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:01 PM) Eaton has been struggling big time vs LHP. OPS around .535 This may receive some scorn, but isn't Eaton's upside that of Rowand? Eaton's not going to be a hit machine, but a grinder. I guess if he's Johnny Damon, that would be an even better upside than Rowand, but expectations for Eaton should be Rowand-esque, right?
flavum
We need Micah Johnson to be a great lead off hitter. Eaton is a 9-guy...and there's nothing wrong with that.
greg775
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) So it looks like the Sox aren't scoring today, and we're waiting for Noesi's one bad inning in the 5th or 6th...k great. MLB screwed us with this series. Have to play teams in Central too many times. We're catching the Royals in a stretch where they are on a roll. When they are clicking we have no chance vs. KC. Earlier in the season, Sox caught them at great times. Duffy and Guthrie are too good for our lineup and KC is hitting now.
