Obama visited North Dakota

And his visit highlighted precisely why I like nothing about the guy.

-He spent a huge amount of taxpayer dollars for what essentially amounted to be a 3 hour visit to the state.

-He visited a reservation, which I have no problem with, but again, spent virtually no time with them, and then left.

-During his speech - which was fluff and nothing more - he never even mentioned or intimated the idea that the Native American people should try and seek employment in the Bakken region. Currently, ND has a 2.6% unemployment rate with about 4,500 job opportunities in the Williston/Dickinson areas, yet unemployment on the Standing Rock reservation - where Obama visited - is currently sitting at 60%. There are people who commute a thousand miles at a time to work oil in western North Dakota right now, so why would we deny our own people from working?

Seeing Air Force One was cool atleast, I guess.

Hey you guys are getting a Buffalo Wild Wings. That is a pretty big deal.

Dickinson is getting a BDubs. We've had one for about 8 years now. Come on now.

How about a quote like this?

"They talked about the challenges of living in two worlds of being both native and American," Obama said, an echo of his own observations in the past about being the son of a Kenyan father growing up in a white society.

This is a group of Native Americans he is talking to on a reservation. They didn't grow up in a "white society," but surely said "white society" is better than one where the economic climate dictates an unemployment rate of 60%.

(it is the author's take on it, but that does seem to be what he is implying with his quote)
