The stuff we thought he'd be bad at (awareness, shooting) he was bad at. The stuff we thought Doug would be good at (Shooting, offense) he's been awful at, the stuff we thought he'd be bad at (defense) he's been horrible at. Soxbadger Posted February 4, 2015 Share Posted February 4, 2015 I think my opinion on the draft are well known, but it wasnt so much what McDermott could do, it was more that with Mirotic coming over the pick was seemingly redundant when the Bulls could have tried to get guys to help at SF/SG/PG. He wasn't an elite defender and obviously not the offensive player he is today. He looked like a rookie his first year. His second year he looked like a serviceable role player. It wasn't until year three when he took a leap to NBA starter. And obviously this year he's jumped even more. Even Snell has taken a huge step from his rookie year. He didn't belong on the court the first season and I think he's been pretty solid as a starter this year. As someone recently said, r-e-l-a-x. McDermott has played what, 15 games this year?
