Heat might do something to get better, but it makes no sense for Carmelo to go there.

Less money, less glory (third fiddle in terms of popularity/recognition on that team in all likelihood), and gets stuck playing alongside another small forward who does everything better than he does.

Agreed.

But they can now add some very solid players to that roster, then re-sign the Big 3, and have a pretty stacked, deep team. Depth has always been their issue. Now they have a chance to fix that.

Melo could easily be a virus in the Heat offense. Halting movement and clogging it up. Could he adjust?

He'd fit in better with is as the main offensive threat but money talks.

Even Haslem opted out. He doesn't make millions off the court like the others. I don't think this is all happening for a rolepleyer upgrade.

Lowry + another vet is what will happen. Guarantee you Melo isn't going there. Makes it more important Melo comes to Chicago and then he can f*** his boys up!!!

I really don't think it is the big 3 anymore. Wade is fading fast. Bosh about to start crumbling. I' m not scurred.

I think you are underselling Bosh. Bosh goes anywhere else and he goes back to being a star. You are completely correct about Wade. Unless Wade and Bosh are going to take some massive pay-cuts, Melo isn't going to fit in there. Only way Melo goes to Miami is if he is replacing one of the other members of the "Big 3".

I was reading Sam Smith, and the evaluators he talks to say Bosh isn't nearly as good as he used to be. Granted it is probably still better than most. But he apparently is headed in the wrong direction. If Riley really didn't care about being a huge dick, he would now tell Wade to go scratch and replace him with Melo. To me though, that would be a very bad thing for him to do. I would imagine the 3 are still a package deal.

Yeah; If he were to do something like that, pretty good odds they all tell Riley to f*** off. The only one I could see them kicking to the curb is Bosh. Wade / James are just too tight.

Sam is of the belief that Bosh does go somewhere else and Melo becomes a new part of the big 3.

To me,especially in the NBA, whoever got the best player, wins the trade. I think McBuckets is a better player than Harris or Hood. The Bulls were higher on him than Stauskas allegedly.

I think his detractors have put him in a stereotype he doesn't belong.

The only problem is he is from Ames, IA, the same town that brought the Bulls in one way or another Tim Floyd, Marcus Fizer , and Gar Forman.

And me.

Meh, with how much Nazr played last year I think you can grab a guy like Young and he'd give you just as much. A 3rd PG like a Kane or a Bryce Cotton, god willing, wouldn't see the court but can learn under Thibs for awhile wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either.

Kane looked like a really good player, and I think his injury really hurt his draft stock.....Where's the ISU fan to give his thoughts??

He didn't get hurt that I know of. I think the issues with him had to do with his age (25) and how ISU used him as a post up guard a lot in a way that may not translate well. Also character issues that are largely unfounded. Also not sure if his shooting this last year was an aberration or not.

I'm okay with that. I think Sam is more wrong then anyone when it comes to having accurate sources at player movement. we'll see though.

If Gar/Pax fail, there is always the possibility JR winds up taking the heat. Lawrence is a NY loudmouth, so take it with a grain of salt.

For a moment I thought you were suggesting JR would sell the Bulls and buy the Heat.

What an idiot:

He’s as opposed to paying a player to walk away as he is to forking over even a dime in luxury tax.

Bulls fork over 393,233 dimes and 6 pennies in luxury tax money for 2012-13 season.

Meh, Wade is s*** and Bosh has regressed with LeBron. Even if they get Lowry, that doesn't change the dynamic all that much. San Antonio has shown us the importance of depth. I don't see how they're gonna upgrade their biggest weaknesses, their lack of a quality big and a decent bench.

San Antonio is basically intact, they are a much bigger threat to repeat than the Heat to be top dog again. Also, let's be honest, San Antonio should've won 2 years ago and this year they blew Miami out. The Heat aren't that good once you get past LeBron, they wouldn't have had four straight NBA Finals if the East wasn't total garbage.

I'll take Bosh at a max contract in a heartbeat if it somehow could happen.

I don't know about a max contract but close to it, yeah. Part of Bosh regression is that he's had to adjust his game to LeBron, he's basically a spot up shooter now. With the Bulls, we'd have him closer to the rim (you'd think).

Oh my goodness. For three years you and other try-hard Bulls fans have told me to stop stroking the Heat and now you've got your mouths wrapped around the Spurs collective dicks. There's no new Spurs blueprint every team must try and emulate now. There's no new "importance of depth" just because the Spurs won. Depth has always been important (less so if you have Shaq and Kobe, etc). And considering the Spurs have never repeat once, I wouldn't be so quick to say they are a much bigger threat to do anything other than be right at the top of the west standings once again. And you saying the Heat only made the finals 4 times in a row because the east is garbage is like me saying the Bulls only won 6 rings because they never saw a C in the finals better than Greg Ostrertag.

Lol J4L. You sound salty as f*ck. The Heat getting murked got you that down?

I don't really feel like getting into it with you (watching Captain Phillips) but I do recall me and you having a difference of opinion between which franchise was more worthy of emulating, you said the Heat and I said San Antonio.

SA has beaten the GOAT (lol) LeBron 2 outta 3, really should be 3 outta 3 though...

BTW you might want to hand in your Bulls fan card already. That Heat bandwagon is a little lighter nowadays so just go full out, bro.

And let's just totally ignore the Bulls got past Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Shaq in the East.
