Dick Allen
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 28, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) That press release from JR absolutely trashed Thibs, wow. He did mention keeping things private. That is pretty weird.I don't know about absolutely trashed, but I think it was a little over the line. His President tried beating up a former coach (minutes restriction on that one as well) and the coach he is firing has a .730 winning pct when the former MVP they lucked out in being able to draft is in the line up. Gar/Pax don't exactly seem like a working well with others pair, and that is 2 coaches they supposedly got wrong. I think 3 strikes you should be out. bmags
Disgusted by JR's press release. Completely uncalled for. Hilarious to say this team has accomplished a lot with a front office/coach alignment. That is absolutely not the case.
shipps
The Bulls org is at a point where I seriously find it hard to root for this team. The leadership are egomaniac pricks. Rose is the most annoying and disconnected star in the league. They will not catch up with the elite teams in this league in the next five years. Its just pathetic right now. 2nd_city_saint787
I'm just excited to see what should be an exciting brand of basketball. I know a lot of people, including myself, wanna see Jo traded, but with his ability to be a point center he sounds like he could be perfect for Hoibergs offense. Along with Royce White, I wonder if they might give DeAndre Kane a look.
southsider2k5
Now see, why wasn't the media talking about this before? Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 34m34 minutes ago We knew there was tension between Thibodeau and the front office, but when he lost the locker room, the writing was on the wall. bmags
BTW - I think KC Johnson takes a huge hit here. Between him getting blown up from the Deng deal, and consistently putting for the view that the Front office wanted to appear to be the truth (stability) and not what was actually going on, I just have no trust that his "reality" takes are true. Woj was the correct one here, as usual.

Woj was the correct one here, as usual. Not sure I buy this. KC has always been a "here's the facts" kind of writer, without the fluff of his own opinions or take on the issue. He's the Bull's beat writer for the Trib, so of course he's going to play nice with the Bulls FO, but i'm not sure he's a cheerleader either. Yeah I remember that. He did it on a national broadcast and also on the Zach Lowe podcast. It was clear trumpeting on Thibs' behalf. Reinsdorf was pissed about it too and that probably sealed his fate. Again though, add in the fact that the Bulls have only progressed so far, and i'm not sure why anyone is that upset about it. He was a great regular season coach and a great defensive coach. And he should get credit for the development of late 1st round talent. But he took them from point C to B and we need someone that goes from B to A. If the players were getting tired of him, which several apparently said so in their exit interviews, then a change has to be made.
