All I know is if I were the Lakers, I'm taking Russell all day. Looks like he has potential to be a superstar. All this said, Okafor is getting bashed despite having a damn good low post game and just fantastic footwork.

I feel weird totally agreeing with you. Towns 1, Russell 2.

lol. maybe because that's because Towns was a beast defensively in college and projects so at the next level?

Beast defensively at Kentucky? Thats some hyperbole.

He was a nice shot blocker but that's about it. Mostly was hidden playing help. I don't think I ever saw him match up 1 on 1 outside the paint. Obviously that's a big no no for the jump to the nba, probably the single biggest difference between the college and nba game. I get the projection. He should and could become a good defender, but it's certainly not there yet.

Okafor should be fine too. People watched him and took his defense in a vacuum. Duke was trying to do the same exact thing, hide Okafor as much as possible. This was mostly to give him a breather as he was one of the most used bigs on offense in the entire country. He touched the ball every possession. He fouled a lot too, which was a big part of it. There were times where K was content playing 4 defenders on 5 and letting Okafor just stand there. Not to defend Okafor's defense because it's not good. Just saying there were reasons for him to looks even worse than he was. He's got the best footwork I've ever seen for a big freshmen, so I think there is definitely a case to be made for him to improve greatly.

KC indicating this will be the finalized coaching staff. Myers is officially coming back to Chicago. IIRC, Drose really liked Pete.

Fred Hoiberg - head coach

Jim Boylen - associate head coach

Pete Myers - assistant coach

Mike Wilhelm - assistant coach

Ed Pinckney - assistant coach

Charlie Henry - video coordinator

Wow, Lakers make the right move. Should set-up nicely for them. I still like Randle's upside and now you have a guy who should be playmaking point guard. I think they'll get one of Love / Aldridge / Gasol and then you pair that with Kobe and it is a lot better.

hahaha@phil and the knicks. Sam Hinke is an OG. The Sixers collection of assets is now unprecedented.

assuming Embiid is ok.

I wouldn't assume that. But they still can be much better

Nerlens/Okafor will be deadly next year. Sixers could make the playoffs (yeah, i know, the east) just off those two.

The "assumption" part i mentioned referred to Embiid. I agree with the Sixers having a lot of talent

Embiid may never play, lol Oden. Philly had to take Okafor.

i'm in denial when it comes to embiid. I just want him to be healthy SOOOOO bad.

Hezonja's tape is so good. Think he's going to be at worst 4th best player in the draft.

He's supposed to be an awful teammate. Very selfish player. Heard a good player comparison could be JR Smith on the Lowe post earlier.

They would need to get a few NBA-caliber guards first.
