bmags
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 1, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) Cavs just entered cap hell. But they're gonna be soooo good. Though if Derrick takes well to Hoiberg, minutes are managed better and Niko, Snell and McDermott all improve there's no reason the Bulls can't compete. He made Dellavadova look like a good starting PG, doesn't matter what trash they'll put around those 3. May have trouble finding a good C when Mozgov can't be re-signed thou. I'm sure they'll get some 34 year old Tyson Chandler sign for league min and win championships.

bmags
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 1, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) Thompson rumored to be getting a 5 year $80 million deal from the Cavs. Cavs are gonna pay their 2 power forwards nearly $40 million next year. That's almost 2/3 of the cap. Going to guess Thompson is playing a good 30 minutes a game at the 4 or 5 so not sure matters. They are only paying Mozgov less than Dunleavy. ZoomSlowik
That Thompson deal is silly to me. He's not close to a max caliber player and can't really play more than about 25 minutes for them. Why not just wait for an offer sheet and match it? I doubt anyone else offers more than 4-50. I know the cap is going up, but they can't afford to throw away any bit of flexibility. On the plus side, they're over the cap anyways, which means 90% of the damage is to Gilbert's wallet. He seems like kinda a dick anyways, so whatever. Pretty sure Thompson also has the same agent as LeBron, so it will keep him happy.

But then again Amir Johnson just got $12 million a year from Boston. I think those two are similar players.

Buehrle>Wood
Remember when Rondo was "elite" and teams were going to clear out cap space to acquire him this offseason. He'll be lucky to find a roster at this point ha.
bmags
In 2010, Chandler was a fairly disappointing, oft injured center who could only do put backs and alley-oops. In the following decade he made $100 million basically by being healthy and the league changing around him.

It hasn't looked like it. GS didn't play any powerhouses to get to the finals and then got a depleted Cavs team. The top of the west could be as strong as it's ever been in '16 while the Cavs roll through the east. Ok. And when the Spurs beat the heat after rolling through OKC and Memphis? Memphis/Houston is a damn tough spread to get through, especially when Josh smith was trying. OKC sucked and will continue to fail in the playoffs and have a fate worse than the Bulls, the most talented team in the league that didn't win a championship. That is something I'd only wish on a crap market like OKC.

I'm just going to find solace in the fact that the Cavs just gave out two Jerome James Contracts to Shump and TT. But hope is nice. Buehrle>Wood
Kings traded Nik Stauskas, Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, first round pick in 2 years, 2 different other first round draft swap options all to the 76ers for...the rights to an overseas player. Okay. Draymond back to the Warriors after all at 5/85.
DBAHO
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 2, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) Kings traded Nik Stauskas, Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, first round pick in 2 years, 2 different other first round draft swap options all to the 76ers for...the rights to an overseas player. Okay. Draymond back to the Warriors after all at 5/85. Yep Sam Hinkie's done it again. I'd hope Orlando would have done a trade like that, just to build up some assets. Sauce Castillo could still end up being a decent player, probably a good thing he got out of Sacramento really. But my god the Kings are a mess of a franchise, they did that so they can overpay Wes Matthews and Rajon Rondo. Craziness. We offered Paul Millsap a 4/80 deal also, but he chose to return to Atlanta on that deal. I also wonder if the Lakers will offer Tobias Harris a max deal now, just so they end up with somebody. But a bit of a down day for the Magic really, I don't think anyone is going to join us in Free Agency until we make the playoffs, so we're just going to have to continue building through the draft for the time being. Also I was wrong on Butler, so the Bulls have done well to get him locked up on a 5 year deal.
