Of course we'd be disappointed, but I won't be mad at the FO. They seemingly have put forth a great effort, so if he stays in NY I'll be saying f*** him and NOT f*** this FO. They can't force these things to happen.

Plus he's not THAT great anyway.

The last time Melo had a legit coach and was surrounded with a legit supporting cast, he took the best of the Kobe/Gasol/Odom/Bynum juggernaut 6 tough games in the west finals. He hasn't had that since.

Duh.

I'm just saying. I never believed Melo was all about winning that he'd leave money on the table for possible championship(s). Not blaming him at all, BTW. I hope I'm wrong but it's the Bulls we're talking about. Big time FAs never come here.

Ramona Shelburne‏@ramonashelburne·5m

Lakers made it clear to Melo today they'd offer the maximum, 4-yr, $97mil contract they can, if he chose them.

Kobe & Melo have been in contact for weeks. He reached to let Melo know scheduling change would keep him from mtg. They'll meet tonight tho

I will be disappointed of course, but it isn't like I felt he was coming to Chicago 100 percent. If it doesn't happen, the Bulls need to move on quickly and decisively.

And by that I do not mean Mirotic, the end.

Source: Knicks told Melo tonight that he can have max contract. Privately, they have told him this all along. Reiterated it tonight.

Sources: Broussard is reporting what Phil said last week as if it is brand new info. Everyone knew Melo was going to get the Max in New York.

Actually a lot of reports were saying that Knicks CAN but Phil might not want to offer him max. Just playing devils (Brousssard) advocate.

Phil already said he would offer the Max if that's what it takes, only that he prefers Melo to take less so he can build

Like most of you I have always assumed he will stay in NY. Barring NY somehow getting LeBron over the course of Melo's contract there is no chance he will win anything with the Knicks. He couldnt even make it to the playoffs last year in the east, Pau Gasol isnt going to put you over the hump. Speaking of Gasol, I really dont understand why were even after him. We have Noah, Taj, Mirotic and McBuckets to a degree for the 4/5, we really need a 2/3 so I dont really see how Gasol would fit in with the Bulls plan.

Well I'm not quite sure DMD will play any PF, so I guess it does make some sense. If they can land Pau cheap enough to still land a a few other good pieces it'd be a fun team.

Report: LeBron's agent, Cavs owner meet http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...story?track=rss

If Dan Gilbert didn't act like a vindictive ex-girlfriend, this would be much more believable. Nobody would hate LeBron for going back, I mean it's Cleveland after all, and unlike Miami, they have some nice young talent. Added bonus would be fulfilling his promise of bringing them a title. A win/win situation but Gilbert said some really nasty stuff about Bron
