Melo is nice, but I'd like to get greedy and get both Love and Affalo. Would like to see if we have enough trade chips to get both.

If all Magic is looking for is a first rounder, we can package Dunleavy, combination of James, Amundson and Brewer and the 16th pick for Affalo.

For Love, we will offer the rights to Mirotic, the carcass of Carlos Boozer, the 19th pick, first rounder next year, and the rights to the Kings pick for K Love.

If we can somehow get Love without losing the defensive value of Taj and Jimmy, this team is going to be tremendous. Noah-Love-Butler-Affalo-Rose with Taj, Snell coming off the bench would be fun to watch.

If the rumors of Golden State offering Thompson AND Lee for Love then that deal won't be enough. If that rumor is true then it's gonna take Noah to get Love.....Even if they're not true and he could be had for a lesser pack I think they'd want at least 1 of Butler or Taj to go along with Mirotic....Even then I feel like that won't get it done.

I don't think the #16 plus non guaranteed deals is going to get it done for Affallo, the guy was almost an All - Star this season.

Think the Bulls would have to package up both their 1st rounders to get something done here.

I tend to agree. Looking at your depth chart, how do you guys feel about Harris/Harkless? Any interest in Butler and one of the picks? I'm sure you guys would really like Taj but I'd be hesitant to make that deal.

Right now it looks like the Magic will draft Vonleh at 4 (unless Exum gets passed the Bucks and Philly) and Elfrid Payton at 12.

Gibson would be exactly the type of PF the Magic need. It's whether Orlando would want to take on that sort of contract. I don't think we'd want to bring another SF at this stage.

In terms of Harris vs. Harkless, I prefer Harkless as a better long - term prospect, he reminds me of a rawer version of Kawhi Leonard at this stage of his career. Harris can give you instant offense, but not much else, falls a bit too much in love with the mid - range jumper.

They could do the same thing and get Melo though. They'd be over the cap. Which is a good thing because then they can utilize the MLE and the Mini-MLE. There is a scenario in which Melo, Mirotic, and Afflalo are all on the Bulls next season with Noah and Rose.

The Bulls’ push to acquire New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is heating up heading into NBA draft week, and perhaps no one wants his services more than coach Tom Thibodeau.

According to one of Anthony’s former coaches, Thibodeau has reached out to him and to several other coaches who have worked with Anthony with numerous calls.

‘‘I even told Tom that there may be days he will want to blow his own head off when it comes to Melo’s defense, but he keeps saying he knows he can make it work,’’ the coach said. ‘‘It’s not that Carmelo can’t play defense, it’s just how often. And he knows every trick in the book on getting around that.’’

Ya, the Bulls "Don't want to add a superstar"

Call me when they actually are able to add a star, without being lucky in the draft. Until then, it is all bs.

What's your number?

...I mean Boozer was a 2x All star before they signed him, so technically I'd say they already did 4 years ago....But ya I'm done with all the Debbie Downers.

Why does this bother you so much? The Bulls the last 10 years have been linked to every star player there is and have acquired none of them. Until it actually happens of course we're all going to be skeptical.

We only missed out on LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Lee, and company. 5th prize sounds right about perfect for the Bulls. And Aaron Afflalo intead of Carmelo or Love sounds like a Bulls off-season.

Again, I guess I'm just focused on the last 4-5 years. I admitted that I didn't watch a whole lot of Bulls basketball when they were awful, call it being a bad fan if you'd like, but I admit it.

Over the last 4-5 years I just don't see what they could have done differently. I always read that the Heats big 3 had planned to play together for a few years before it happened, did the Bulls have the money for that to happen here? Are fans really upset they took Boozer over Lee? They were virtually the same player and Boozer had made the All Star team twice.

The only other rumor I've heard the last few years was Noah for LMA....People here don't wanna give up Noah for Love.

I've just been loving all the rumors over here and then I come on here and see some of the s*** posted and it just irks me....You guys have your right tho so this will be my last post on the issue...I will continue to post rumors tho....

Exactly.

It was like, "Oh we missed out on the big ones, we freed up and have all this money...um, here Boozer. See! We spend!"

Was it you that was posting along with me in the NBA thread the previous year about how terrible he was in the playoffs against the Lakers?

Isaiah Austin is done with basketball because of some genetic disorder. That kid has been through a ton, I feel real bad for him.

Just awful. First he has no depth perception, now he can't even play basketball. He definitely got screwed by the genetic lottery.

Yea, but they also had to spend the money, it wasn't something they could pocket for later. And Boozer did fill a need.

It was just a massively disappointing alternative to what we wanted and was yet another swing and miss by the FO

Bill Simmons is saying Afflalo and Melo to Bulls is "very possible"

NBA peeps are worried about the Bulls right now. A starting 5 of Rose, Afflalo, Carmelo, Taj + Noah w/ Butler as 6th man is VERY doable.

FYI - Bulls could trade Boozer's expiring + 16 + 19 to Orlando for Afflalo and 2 waivable deals. Then use Mirotic to dump Snell/Dunleavy.

I don't think the Bulls' FO is this creative.

The question is did they have enough money for Lebron, Wade, and Bosh? Those 3 obviously wanted to play together, they've said it many a times. Then after that it was Lee, Boozer, or Joe Johnson(though I believe he was signed before the decision). If you thought they should have got Lee over Boozer, that's fine. Boozer was a 2x all star at that point though. I understand hating having to settle for him, but hating him as a player is a little silly IMO.

(And yes I realize I said I was done with this, but I can't resist =p)

Maybe. I've never liked Boozer. Softest PF in the league. We probably should've done more PnR with him but that's not what our PG does.

Rarely gets a rebound in traffic, it seems. I could be wrong but just feels that way.
