Also nice to see the Sox not completely fall off the ledge after the Royals debacle. The team continues to surprise (me) with its resiliency. I sat right next to the bullpen and Abreu launched that bomb like 10 feet away from me. Later on some guy got nailed in the face with a ball from the bullpen. No blood or anything. The medical staff checked him out and offered him ice but he refused. He said he saw a flash of light when it hit but insisted he was okay. He was in good humor and kept cracking jokes about it. He was probably buzzed. One of the bullpen staff tossed him a ball to keep for his troubles.
